I talked to Jordan Reed and Brian White at the media opportunity today. Unfortunately switching between a Windows desktop and Mac laptop reformatted my SD card and caused my quotes to get erased before I could transcribe them for a planned Jordan Reed story.
Here's what I have from my notepad:
QB to TE brings up Cornelius Ingram comparisons and questions:
-White was fairly certain that CI had talked to Reed. White implied it's an example of CI giving back to the team.
-Reed said he has not talked to CI.
-Coaches have not yet provided Reed with DVDs of game film of NFL tight ends. This is something they did with CI to help him learn the position.
Wildcat:
-Reed is still taking some snaps at QB in wildcat packages and goal line formations.
-Reed was first to confirm he's still working with the QBs in some capacity. As his been posted in the Alley from other media opportunities, Loeffler would not confirm this and even today White said it was a question for Addazio.
Switch to TE:
-As with the vast majority of position changes, he wanted to see the field and did not see himself beating out "Johnny B."
-Reed said he was "progressing faster" at TE than QB.
-Reed realizes tight end position gets a lot of attention after CI and Aaron Hernandez.
Humor:
-Reed did not seem particularly comfortable in front of the media, but he gave the reporters a good laugh when he was asked about knocking safeties down. He started his response saying there's no way he would be knocking Will Hill down.
My apologies again that this is an Alley post instead of an article. FWIW, I have my hardware problem all figured out and this should not be an issue from here on.
