T. J. Dudley – LB 4-star – Montgomery, AL

Already Signed with Gators
Trey Smack- Kicker 3-star – Severna Park, MD
Jamari Lyons – DL 4-star – Melbourne, FL
Shemar James – LB 4-star – Mobile, AL

Buiding a Relationship for 2023
:...five-star edge rusher Malik Bryant. An Orlando native who attends Jones High School, the 6-foot-2-inch, 235-pound player is the No. 21 prospect nationally on the 247Sports Composite and the No. 2 edge rusher. He announced that he will be in Gainesville this weekend on his Twitter account."

Better have the NIL money to shell out if you want to flip him
Tebow,

His comment about come hard - what ever - was just "show me the money" phrased a bit more discreetly.

But, if I am honest, I would do the same if I was his age with his physical talent ! LOL

Perkins & today's recruits didn't create this NIL Environment; they would be fools not to take advantage of it - 1 injury away from disaster !

Michi,

Opinions -

UF & Gators' name have no impact on West Coast.

Our success rate very poor; the 1 or 2 we have signed in the last few years didn't stick.

Cost Benefit analysis yields zip for UF for West Coast recruiting.
You do make a valid point but I'd hate to pass on a talented player who may come here because Chris Steele didn't pan out or some guy from yesteryear under totally different staffs.

That would be like (just an example) a Miami Westminister Christian recruit wouldn't visit UF because Jordan Cronkrite transferred from here.

We should be taking the best players we can get from wherever they are. However, I understand the distance from home thing for a lot of kids. My thinking is that the first priority of the new staff should be working to build relationships ASAP within the state of Florida, as there are more than enough 4 & 5 star kids in our own backyard to meet our needs. At the same time, we should be open to any kid from anywhere who has the talent and interest to come to UF.

we didn’t hire the USC WR coach for the sake of ignoring the west coast

I don’t think we will recruit the west coast that much. Colbert has a prior connection with Napier and he’s a good recruiter and coach that will just have to start making in-roads in the south.
