They said during the LSU/Miss. St. game a few minutes ago that JJ has a broken hand and will be out about 3 weeks. I know he got hurt during the 2nd game of the Miss. St. series, but it was reported as just a bruise. I can't find a more serious diagnosis confirmed anywhere on a Gator website. That will hurt badly if he can't play for 3 weeks, as that covers Regionals and Supers. Does anybody have information one way or another?

Gator baseball Twitter 13 hours ago said he was day to day with a bruised hand. Lots of comments on the LSU/Miss st. Report. No response from the account.

Saw a couple other college baseball writers tweeting that Schwarz is day to day, but that probably comes from the team's twitter. It sounds like we probably won't see him or Singer in the SECT, which is fine. But they'll need them next weekend.

Shite!

I feel terrible for JJ. Struggles for two years to live up to his freshman hype, puts aside the disappointment of the mlb draft to play good all around ball to win us a chip and here he is captain of maybe the best team in Gator history and playing all American ball and gets dinged in a meaningless series to probably miss the postseason. Sully said he was coming out of that game in the next half inning. Sports is just brutal sometimes.

That freshman has shown pretty well. Rest of the lineup will have to step up, Langworthy, Maldonado and Dalton are capable. Healthy Singer is a must for the regional. Hopefully they battle and get JJ a shot at the CWS.

The Sun article only says that e is out of the SEC-T, not the entire post-season. Will be re-evaluated after the tourney.

I hope so. Broken hand is a tough one in baseball. JJ is one of my favorite all-time Gators. I hope he gets a chance to play. Even if we won another title, it would bum me out if he missed it.

Totally agree. Classy guy, just like his sister Taylor was when she played 4 years for the softball team.
