Iowa in the Outback Bowl

Nebraska would have been better. Iowa after watching them later in the season is likely to wear our defense down by the 2nd half.

Another 3 TD's favorite over the Mc-Nuss losers.
Won't go or even watch that game.
Forfeit it and save UF the embarrassment and the few Gator homers left the expense...

What happened to "In all kinds of weather?" I've been a gator since 1964 and no matter what they do or what happens to them, I ALWAYS pull for my Gators in all sports. I hate fair weather, bandwagon jumping fans.

My first game was when SOS was the QB, not the HBC.
I was at every game in Pell's first season.
I G-a-S what you hate or like, noting personal, just how it is.
I'm posting the way I am for my own entertainment, so skip me or ignore me if you're too new to see what it is...

I don't think anyone is not cheering for the Gators. I think Mac has very little support and nearing a decade of irrelevance I think he is getting that frustration on top of his 100 amd something ranked offense and inability to recruit

While I think that michi is usually more clueless than he thinks that Mc-staff is...

Iowa will show up as the team that got dismantled by Penn State or the team that dismantled Nebraska. Then again we could show as the team that dismantled Rutgers 14-7. Who knows?

I have very little faith in this staff getting the team prepared and motivated to win this game.

A fair weather fan would just stop caring. A bandwagon fan would start following another team. These Gator fans are pissed.

Yep. A bandwagon or fairweather fan would have just move on to another successful team by now, not be here posting on message boards or going to games. We've been bad for nearly a decade now...any fan that's still here ain't fairweather. I really think this attitude comes from the admin and a segment of the uppity fanbase. Fans are just supposed to shut up and keep paying out big cash for tickets and merchandise apparently. If you criticize anything then you're a fairweather or bandwagon fan.

wonder if Mac will dust off ole Zook's statue-of-liberty play from the 2005 Outback Bowl versus Iowa?

Outback QB selections and why:

Start Franks and play him the entire 1st half, no matter how he's doing.
Play Trask the entire 2nd half, no matter how he's doing.
Burn both redshirts, cause if they bring in another transfer, then at least one of them is going to transfer out, or be an idiot not to go. Clarabel my azz.
This way, at least you got a look at them before they left to go actually play elsewhere.o_O

LDR rsJr
Franks rsFr
Trask rsFr
Allen Fr
Now add in yet another retread transfer and what do you get?
A total cluster-duck imoho....

Yup. Transfer shit has to stop. If he could win with his dog he should be able to mold Franks or Trask, both semi-mobile, good sized, strong armed guys.

Third time between the two. Hope we get a decent officiating crew
Fourth, actually.

I agree, there was horrendous officiating in the most recent matchup. Iowa spotted an extra 2 yards to give them a conversion on 3rd and 10 instead of forcing a 4th and 2. Degory flagged for ineligible man downfield (first half I believe) was another blown call. Play had moved UF into the red zone, but penalty pushed them out of FG range and ended up punting. Took 3, possibly 7 points away, from the Gators.

Which I pointed out after the Spring game. Instead, I got to suffer through the 2 retreads while those quality Fr wasted a full year of their lives...

People forget, or never realized that Leak left UF as the Gator's All Time Passing Yards leader.

If we are going to go back to that game at least the officials admitted their mistake:

Shortly after Florida's 31-24 win over Iowa in Monday's Outback Bowl, coach Urban Meyer expressed his concern about a controversial call late in the game that negated Iowa's recovered onside kick and sealed the win for the Gators.

"I hope they were offside," Meyer said. "To make a call like that, I didn't see it, but I thought it was a tough call."

Turns out, it was the wrong call.

A Conference USA official said league referees made a mistake when they flagged Iowa's Chad Greenway for being offside late in the fourth quarter at Raymond James Stadium.

Down by seven with 1:24 left, Iowa's Scott Chandler recovered an onside kick that would have given the Hawkeyes a chance for a game-tying drive. But Greenway was flagged for crossing the 35 before the ball was kicked.

Television replays showed Greenway behind the line of scrimmage when kicker Kyle Schlicher's foot hit the ball. Florida recovered the ensuing kickoff and ran out the clock for a 31-24 win.

Now come on guys, we're all going to have to work a lot harder at this, if we are going to stir up even a small amount of G-a-S about this bowl game.... :D

Soooooo this means your wearing your Gator t-shirts and hat proudly? I've put mine away for the season. At some point, the fans that drive back and forth to stadiums across the SEC should get some respect and demand fruits for their labor also!!!! WE WANT A WINNER NOW!!!!!!

Right.

its flat out amazing all these years how much their fans care about a meaningless bowl game like it's a championship, is it that important to beat Florida
