To me, there has been talent at the position, but it has more to do with the lack of talent surrounding them and a long line of offensive coordinators coming and going.

Take a look at that 2008 team which had Percy Harvin, Louis Murphy, Aaron Hernandez, Deonte Thompson, Riley Cooper and David Nelson catching passes. Each of them played in the NFL. Talent like that makes a world of difference.
