As to what kind of offense, how about a successful and winning offense.

Plays can be mixed in from both a standard offense, and an option offense, to suit the player talent on hand each year. Also, players that played mostly one style can easily learn plays from the other.

Dak Prescott ---- 6-2 238
Nick Fitzgerald - 6-5 230
Kyle Trask ------- 6-5 240

Even Allen 6-3 200 and Corral 6-2 196 could run a modified option offense imo. Occasionally throw in shifty wild-gator Kadaris Toney 5-11 194 4.4/40 and then fire that mutha-up!

And with the Gator's RB stable being what it is, any Gator QB shouldn't be running the ball more than 5-10 times per game anyway. The QB needs to be smart, be able to make quick decisions, be accurate throwing, and not turn it over. (I think that leaves Franks out)

Luke Del Rio (barring injury) will not be the starting QB for UF next season.

I mean I believe Mullen can develop QB's but he isn't magician that can turn chicken is into chicken salad. Plenty of other options to work with.

He gets a complete pass from me year 1 and likely year 2 too. Mainly because I feel, no I know, this roster is trash and needs cleansing. There's limited upside until we bring in some studs. I'll critique things, sure. But I'm not expecting much from a record standpoint. I just wanna see improved ball.

I would rather have less wins next year but clean up the mess than some meaningless SECe title that masks HUGE underlying issues.

While I expect to see Dan make a major improvement right away in 2018. There is plenty of talent on the roster (with the solid makings of an great incoming class), minus some few 'trash haulers' on the current roster that need to be given some transfer advice.

My biggest bitch about Mc was with WHO he put on the field on game days, not with who he recruited to be Gators,,, and the majority of them ARE solid Gators, not hot trash...

I like him because Dan's a TEAM's coach, not so much a player's coach.
Consequences for decisions and actions needs to be something real, not just something that you say to the cameras.
