I just checked the Blue Board

Wow that place is dead. I remember it being much more active in seasons past.

Congrats to myself, @jfegaly @fatman76 @nail1988 @Sunburnt Indian @NavigatorII @BCSpell and @gatordad3 for doing such an amazing job growing this board. It was totally dead when we arrived. What an empire we have built.
The Blue Board is frustrating because a few posters can't come to grips with the fact that UF's football ceiling is capped until 3rd and Grantham is sent packing. Mullen's other fatal flaw is unwavering loyalty to QB's that have been in the system a long time as well as some of the assistant coaches. Saban doesn't dick around with these things. Going with Tua as a freshman over a damned decent seasoned QB just proves this out. Now that there is nothing to play for this year, might as well start building for the future.

That's the problem with this playoff garbage, it makes earning a bowl berth like everyone earns a trophy crap.

Plenty of Bama fans would tell you Saban has kept his current DC at least a season longer than he should have.

Bowls are now meaningless. Two of our 1st round draft picks didn't even play last year. Nobody cares, other than university treasurers.
College football's National Champion is meant to be decided on New Year's Day. If you are a Top 10 team coming into NYD and you win, every single game on NYD was the Super Bowl, cause it impacted where your team would be ranked.

Every game mattered. It was honestly the best day in all of sports and we ruined it.

To be fair to Jalen Hurts, it seemed like he was better coached by Lincoln Riley while at OU than with the alcoholic Steve Sarkisian.

Judging from the OU-Texass game, Riley outcoached and outclassed The Alcoholic.

The Fevered Brain and I go way back to an old Gator board(Gainesville Sun) that pretty much no longer exists, and if any of you notice, Fever doesn't get sucked into pissing matches so easily.
I miss Agent Orange.
Wasn't the original Gator Bait run by the Gainesville Sun? I was on the original Gator Bait site, but I am an old curmudgeon.:p Was that the first site that this evolved from? I remember when Peter the Thief Warrick was in contention for the Heisman. Someone created and posted a meme of him in the Heisman pose, a little statuette.........with Heistman inscribed at the bottom of the trophy, and a Dillard's tag hanging from it. 😂

The Gainesville Sun actually had the gator sports message board(GSMB) till it crashed. Once it was revived, it died a slow death. Now you have to be a paid subscriber to post there. After GSMB crashed, gatorchatter was created. I, along with Fever, have been on chatter and here since.

Gator Bait was the previous name on this site/board. I avoid Gator Country, which names their board Swamp Ass, I meant Gas.

Absolutely agree, what better way to get AR15 ready to dominate next season, let him take a few lumps and gain real play time experience.

Gator Bait was also a monthly (I beleive) news letter/newspaper that I use to receive in the 80's and 90s.

Speaking of Gator Country I was surprised they let that writer go after Mullen's decisions so hard after that KY loss. Usually they never allow that unless a coach Is a dead man walking already as that is the land of the sunshine pumpers. I saw it posted on twitter.

Didn't the management actually shut it down over some silly crap thinking they could do without it and that is when Ox started the Chatter site. Later they realized traffic was down but there was no saving it then.

Yep, the second the Sun's message board crashed, there was some dispute on how to manage the board from what I heard. After weeks or months, the Gainesville Sun suffered a plunge in viewership then brought the message board back, but almost all of the old GSMB members jumped ship to chatter and never looked back.
I never cared much for Pat Dooley or Robbie Andreu.

Sark didn't coach Jalen, Jalen left after the 2018 season and that's when Sark started.

Sark's baggage is well known, but he gave us zero problems at Bama and the offense was amazing under him. Much better than his predecessor.

That's right, Mike Locksley was the OC in 2018. Either way, Hurts was coached up at OU and it showed. I've always liked Jalen Hurts over Tuanigamanuolepola Tagovailoa.

As for Sark, it wouldn't take long for a team to grab as the Falcons did before he went back to Bama as the OC.

You like Hurts more than Tua?

I'm assuming that you are talking about personality...which still doesn't make sense because both guys are awesome teammates/people.

But Tua was an amazing college QB. We will see how that translates in the NFL but in college, it wasn't close.

Hey you make choices and you deal with the consequences.
Sounds a lot like what happens with the Co-V kung flu vax...
The ignorant in both cases take what they chose on the chin...

Many were bummed out explosive backup quarterback Anthony Richardson didn't get more snaps. Richardson was put into the game early in the first half, but he threw an interception on his first pass of the game and the offense sputtered and punted on his second drive.

"A lot of that's the processing, all the processing that goes into it, of, hey, of all the things that you're asked to do..." Mullen said. "I'm up there, are we in the formation, is everybody set, what's the play clock, what's the protection, is the protection checked, do I have the protection handled, who am I hot off of, do I have to make a check, is there a check involved in the play to alert somebody, what's the pre-snap coverage read, what's the post-snap coverage read? Here's how they played it, this is where I'm reading the ball to, now I've got to get; that's covered, I get to my second progression, get to my third progression, got to get the ball out. There's a lot that goes into it. Obviously the more you do it, the better you get at it, through the years."

The quarterback guru isn't going to rush development just for the sake of doing so, (ig - or for making the galacticly ignorant fans or media-morons happy)

Emory Jones was named to the Davey O’Brien Great 8 List as was announced on Monday. Jones gets placed on the midseason watch list for the Davey O’Brien National Quarterback Award as a player that wasn’t on the preseason list, but named to a Great 8 list.

Dooley............eh........... never liked him. He was to Spurrier as Romney is to Trump. Unappreciative POS. No self respecting Gator can tolerate anybody named Dooley to begin with. Bianchi is a midget retard who worked for the Sun, bored us in Jacksonville. then moved to Whorelando and became a whiny assed leftard pussy. All of those steroids he pumped into his body just made him a bigger Chihuahua.:p

I don't understand why he wasn't right back in with a 42 point lead though I think I know why.

Personality wise, I had no problem with either. I just felt that Hurts had/has slightly a little more upside than Tua. A player's transition in the NFL is not how I ever judged them.
I want Tua to succeed mainly because I'm a Dolphin fan and just as anxious to get him back from IR.

Hurts is bigger and more physical. That's not why I brought this up though. Saban (Satan to some) will go with the hot hand and has no fvcks to give. For the most part, it has not failed him. I'm not a Saban ball cupper but the man has earned mad respect.

Exactly how Spurrier decided on who plays QB. None of us can say the same for the Cousin Eddie lookalike.

The last QBs that showed true progression at Bama were Greg McElroy and AJ McCarron. Their OC was, ironically, Jim McElwain.

Jalen is the better athlete, Tua is the better quarterback.

The problem with Tua is he is injury-prone. Remove that and he has the chance to be a HOF QB.

That was a nasty injury Tua suffered that I didn't even bother to watch the replay the same reason I refuse to watch Sid Vicious break his leg in a match with Scott Steiner, back in the late 90's, I believe. I sure as hell didn't watch the replay CBS kept playing over and over with Tyrone Prothro's injury vs UF in 2005.

Not all the time. Saban is often loyal to a fault with his players. Jalen is a perfect example, he loved Jalen. When Bama won the 2018 SECCG because of Jalen, CBS reporter asked him after the game what he thought about Jalen and he started crying and said he was so damn proud of him. It was authentic, he loved Jalen.

When Tua arrived, he immediately dazzled in practice. He was lights out. The WRs absolutely loved catching his passes. Jalen always struggled as a passer at Bama, and as the season went on, Tua continued to wow his teammates while Jalen continued to be Jalen.

At midseason, the OC went to Saban and told him Tua is ready to play, whenever you want. Saban kept Jalen in. Then we almost lost the Miss State game. Jalen stayed in.

Finally Saban agreed to make the switch at halftime of the NC game, with the offense sucking ass. Then the press after the game was that Saban boldly made the call to put true freshman QB in, even though his OC had been pushing for him to make that move for months.
