is in the playoffs but I'm overjoyed that FSU won't be able to embarrass and cheapen the first true football championship. So I guess it's all good.

Why do people give about whether a team from their conference makes it in? It feeds into the stupid conference tribalism and bias we see on these boards every day. I'm glad the SEC West was exposed yesterday for what it was. People who talk about how much they hate UGA or some other rival then cheer for them in the bowl game. Too me that's not really hate.

Oh, well. I'm sure we'll be hearing about how tough our SEC is again in about 6 months. It's a myth that feeds itself. I'm just glad that the Mississippi teams were exposed. You know the SEC is weak when the Mississippi teams are representing it.

Among other things the success of the conference enhances the value of it's TV contract.

Winner.

I would also add that playing in the BEST conference is a lure for top level recruits. UF is never lacking in recruiting, but it is a nice edge to have against other schools that are having more success on the field right now.
