There are five and maybe six SEC teams that, based on record alone, have a chance to take a huge step forward today. To make a statement that they are a legitimate SEC Title contender and are therefore part of the playoff possibilities.

UGA/Alabama-I am rooting for Bama, but would not be surprised if UGA wins. Georgia is favored at home by two. It is an elimination game for Alabama.

TAM/MSU-TAM does not like physical football and MSU plays physical football. TAM is favored at home by 6 points. I am looking forward to seeing which of these two teams is for real. Both started well last year but faded.

Florida/Ole Miss- Even with all the inconsistencies in every facet of the team, offense, defense and special teams, Florida is 4-0. No one outside the most fervent Gator fan expected that. Ole Miss has a great defensive front seven but has an tepid running game. That is notable if there is a lot of rain.

Three great games between SEC programs that have huge, huge national implications. No other conference in the nations has these kinds of critical match ups almost every single week.

So, Bama wins. Both UGA and Bama are in the mix.

TAM wins, they are in the mix, MSU is probably out.

Florida wins and Ole Miss has one loss. Both are still in the mix.

The SEC still has 5 teams in the mix.

So while I worried about UT...I still expected to be 4-0 going into Ole Miss.

At this point...the whiskey tells me that anything isn't only possible, but probable.

Color me optimistic because this MIGHT be a repeat of 1990.

Nobody knew what to expect. There was hope, but nobody knew.

Yea, good point. The game next week will tell us a lot about Mac. That is a trap game. Off a big win and before a big road game.

Maybe this will be like Terry Bowden's first year at Auburn.....:D
