Bud Elliott has laid out the stats for first year classes for HCs during the early signing era. It's terrible. Mullen was basically the only guy to salvage his first year class since 2018. I feel the same coming on for firing Grantham. There's just no way you can hire a DC in early December and then salvage the class by mid-December.
USC and LSU don't know who their HCs will be. Other top programs will replace coordinators. How many top 100 players will wait around past ESP to see how these programs shake out?
