Hospital’s Employees Suspended for Not Getting COVID19 Vaccine

Good question. I don’t know the answer to that. For the flu shot, those declining the shot need to mask for the season.
So your facility makes people mask for not getting a flu shot? And… there is no end in sight for not wearing masks regarding covid?

Actually most hospitals make people that refuse to get a flu shot wear a mask during flu season. It’s fairly common practice. That’s actually the more reasonable hospitals, some hospitals refuse to let you work if you don’t get a flu shot. This has been going on for years.

That’s crazy to me but to each their own

Yeah, this is kind of a no-brainer to me. You’re not impinging upon somebody’s personal liberties or freedoms when you are giving them a job and setting requirements for that job including vaccinations.

You’re free to go work somewhere else.

Something I've been saying. Not sure why some people think otherwise.

How far can you go with this line of thinking ("You’re free to go work somewhere else"), however?

FWIW, I tend to agree that it's not unreasonable for healthcare workers. I don't LOVE the idea of it, but I get it.

Forcing anyone to participate in this "study," when you have to sign and acknowledge that it's a study, prior to full FDA approval is just wrong AF.

You MUST do this if you want to work here....but we're not liable if shit goes south for you as a result.

That's freaking nuts man.

Actually you cannot force somebody to participate in a research study without informed consent thanks to the Tuskeegee Incident. So this is a process upon which there can be reasonable compromise even if it’s forced at the hand of courts. This is best dealt with through civil litigation, suing an employer in civil court versus trying to get a federal judge to force a right to work. But certainly it can be taken too far on either side and there are some checks and balances for that.

You're so far gone on this.

Read...you'll be less unsure why some people think otherwise.

Oh I read the nonsense that you guys post.

Here's hoping reason and measure wins the day.

I'm at least as certain as you are that you are out of your freaking mind.

For shits and giggles, remember that I'm not one who is pro or anti vaccination. I'm the guy who called its development a modern miracle. I'm the guy who says we should all take a measured approach, weighing risk vs reward. IOW's....an informed decision.

...but I'm the one who is so far gone on this? Agree to disagree. Maybe some introspection could help you???

This past 15 months has moved the football more than anytime in my years in earth, in so many ways. The scar from this is unlikely to completely fade.

Umm I'm not questioning your stance on the vaccine at all. If my memory is correct, you were saying things it's a slippery slope and what will they require next. Just typical scare tactics.

As I said before, I'm curious to see what the courts rule but I can't see the courts tell a private company what they can't and can require. Nobody is forcing people to work places. This isn’t China.

We've never agreed more.

I've often wondered if that was the point.

I'm not much of a conspiracy theory guy. Most of them seem stupid and not well thought out (who gains, who loses, what would drive it) but if the purpose of all of this was TRUE social change, it was spectacularly successful...in a completely evil way, of course.

It is a slippery slope. I don't know if anyone disagrees with that...other than you if you actually do. That's not a scare tactic. Today's absurd can become tomorrow's norm. That has happened time and time again throughout our history. I can cite examples. So can you fwiw.

There are many things that private companies are not allowed, by law, to require of their employees.

It was a major move by the government was blatantly obvious within a couple of weeks of the "crisis" I have said this repeatedly as you know, both sides played it, socialism is right around the corner.

Agree again. I'm not 100% that socialism is a forgone conclusion but we damn sure are headed that way socially and economically.

Without some dramatic shift, something that stops us dead in our tracks, that is the destination, sadly.
