Last year, we lost to Bama 31-29, and were the better team for 3 quarters of that game. Yes, Mullen gave up on the team and things spiraled downhill after that. But at that point, we were 5-0, and nobody was saying, “It’s amazing what we are doing without having any SEC caliber players!”

This year, everybody says we don’t have SEC level talent anywhere on the roster.

Here are the starters we lost from last year:

Offense: Emory Jones, Dameon Pierce, Jacob Copeland, OL Stewart Reese, sometimes starter Malik Davis, sometimes starter Kemore Gamble

Defense: Kaiir Elam, Zach Carter, Diabate, and sometimes starters Newkirk and Shelton at DT.

In some of those places, Diabate to Miller and Reese to Torrence, we have unquestionably upgraded.

Of those we lost, we only lost 3 to the NFL.

So please tell me the specific players we are missing other than Carter and Elam (everyone seems happy with MJ and ETN) from last years squad that changed us from nearly being 4-0 and quite possibly #1 in the country, certainly top 5, to a team that can excuse losses to mediocre teams as due to a lack of talent.
