A Jax area 3Bman for a 3A HS Bsb team is batting .300 on the season after lettering on that team as a 2bman last season and hitting .260+. He occasionally pitches (already in mid 70's). He's stealing bases regularly and playing good defense. BTW, he's an eighth grader now (aged 14). His 6th grade brother(still 12) leads his middle school in hitting (above .400) and pitching (already low 60's) and hasn't struck out in more than 40 plate appearances. He gets called up to varsity on occasion to play OF where he is on a par with the teammates. Their Dad earned a D1 schollie as a pitcher and was drafted and signed. He's above 6'4" and currently in the 235 range and solid. The boys haven't hit their growth streaks yet but are normal for their ages. The 3A team carries a winning record and is beginning to play well. They will be heard from when district playoffs start as they split with the previously only unbeaten district team.
Yep.......I'm the proud GrandPa and a former Gators Bsb schollie infielder.
