Hey Fever…what time are the “Big Boosters” meeting tomorrow to ink the deal with Kiffin?!?!?!?

Cut the Fevered Brain some slack. We have a much bigger Kiffin nut stroker here, and it's not Fever.
Coach Spurrier used to say "god smiled on the Gators, again". I'm not quite sure how this worked out today other than I loved a win with Kitten being on the other sideline. We got out schemed and yet a young buck QB and a tenacious D line gave us a win. If God really loves the Gators he will give us a new offensive coordinator next year, regardless of Slingblade status.

TBH, I'm exhausted from trashing Napier as we are stuck with him for at least another season.
I can also see more and more coaches on the hot seat which will be difficult to compete with other schools who fire their coaches.

Forgive me for stealing our buddy, Mega Dumb Fuchs(@Mdfgator) quote. It's hard to argue we beat a team that was far more talented than us.

We made a player cry…that’s when you know Florida Football is good.

Sad, we are 6-5, that got Muschamp, Mac and Mullen fired.

WTF happened to you?

You are now a pitiful sole glad to win 6-7 games

Honestly, that loser mentality belongs at Vandy.

Maybe an ounce of athletic background would help your sorry shell of your former self

Super happy with the win. Team has certainly continued to fight in spite of schedule, injuries, etc. But in my humble opinion, we are 6-5 in spite of Napier not because of him. He only needs to make a couple of fundamental changes starting with give up the play calling and hire a special teams coach. The kids seem to love him, but if he continues doing what he has been doing then 6/7 wins are the ceiling.

Like I have said before Lagway has the juice and the defense has it when he plays also. He covers up some of the bonehead calls. So what is the answer to get to 10-2?

Lagway made some ridiculous plays today, but he wasn't why we won. Our schedule will be just as difficult, if not more so, next season. So as numbers has said unless he starts recruiting like Saban he can't get to 10 wins.

Dude…look…sadgator went to the mountaintop three times.

sadgator is well aware of what this team is and where it fits in our history of success.

But we just beat 2 ranked SEC teams in successive weeks, and we knocked a team out of the playoffs in hilarious fashion…

sadgator is old and tired, but still loves to have a good time. This team was left for dead after A&M, and if you can’t appreciate the effort, the energy, and the fight they have given us, sadgator doesn’t know that to say. They have given us something joyous to cheer for. You can either enjoy and celebrate that or wallow in misery.

If you can’t enjoy it, what is the point of it all?!?!?!?

Does sadgator have serious reservations about Napier’s in-game decisions, sure. He damn near gave the game away….multiple times. But he didn’t. They won. They might win next week…and 7-5 is something nobody would have expected on the day after A&M…

Take it for what it is worth…you can be miserable…but sadgator doesn’t have the time to join you….

Amen Sad, that’s where I’m at. I had little faith and despite some on this site…Napier gets the credit just like he got the hate. Every coach makes bad calls but these kids play for him. We have some good young players and the next two seasons should be fun with Lagway taking snaps. Despite an average record I never would have thought that we beat 2 top teams in the last 3 weeks of the season. Gonna be fun curb stomping the Nulls next week…even though they suck, I’m gonna love it.

I think the point is that we're showing we can be right there with the best teams in the SEC. Ole Miss beat up UGA pretty good and we just outhit them for 60 minutes.

There's no excuse for how we opened the year, but I have to give CBN and the team credit for turning it around. EVERYONE had given this team up for dead, so to be winning big time SEC games late in the season is impressive to me.

They have definitely improved cleaning things up pre-snap. You don't see all the motion penalties and delays of game. And the defensive turnaround, I don't know if I've seen anything like it.

And Lagway''s upside is No. 1 pick in the draft.

So I'd like to see us get a win in Tallahassee. I expect it will be harder than we would think. Win a decent bowl game. Pull a recruiting class somewhere in the 20s. Sign a decent NIL class. All seem doable. And you'd have to call that a pretty positive 2024.

Let’s not forget that Ole’ Miss had EVERYTHING to play for yesterday…

That Dart kid don’t collapse on his own. Florida’s pass rush at the end of that game was ferocious.
And if Lane Kiffin would have been a major upgrade, there's no way he'd have lost to Napier.

I would still take him over Napier but at least if we were to have struggles next year this has him thinking he won't get there being at Ole Miss.
Who knew? I sure didn't. For Napier to evolve though, he has GOT to hire a top notch offensive coordinator. There is no way to play that down.

I had my doubts about us beating LSU and Ole Miss for the past several weeks. This is where I'm proud to be wrong, and I doubt Kiffin would have struggled with DJ. Kiffin even expressed his concerns about defending against Lagway as the players headed to the locker room at halftime.

I still think Meyer has a strong interest no matter what he stated publicly.

The only thing that scares me is Napier is still making stupid in game decisions. A real good QB can overcome a lot but I think to be a championship team the offense might have to be ran another way. Maybe we could do it like LSU did it a few years back. Trying to think if a modern SEC championship or national championship has been won by a coach calling his own plays where the coach wasn't good at that. Even Auburn had Malzahn calling the plays as OC I think on their National Championship team.

Kiffin is a better coach than Napier. It's really not close. But Kiffin is at Ole Miss and Napier is at Florida. Florida should beat career mid pack SEC Ole Miss most seasons. Expectations are different. If Kiffin wants to truly win a natty he will need to jump to a program with the resources to do that.

I think so also. They did hit good with the portal pickups this year but that is a dangerous strategy long term especially if you aren't at the very top with total NIL money. He has Simmons at QB which is a plus next season but I think they won't be more than an 8-4 team losing all those portal transfers.

FSU won with the portal and they lost with the portal. You have to in order to be successful, but you still need top notch recruiting.

Welcome to the No Fun League. Where dynasties are paid for and not built. The only thing different is that there is no draft and no contracts, just $$. Anyone with a brain should have seen this coming. Some people like it, some don't. The have not programs will be sisters of the poor forever.

We had The Swamp rockin' yesterday and victory tasted sweet. I am already looking forward to next year and we still have two more wins to tack on this season. Lagway makes all the difference in the world on this team.

I agree with those calling for a first class Offensive Coordinator. Bring that man in and we go to another level.

Speaking of up and coming coaches, how about Jon Sumrall at Tulane? Some SEC school is bound to grab him soon.

With NIL and the Portal, your position is completely flawed and incorrect.

Your assertion is predicated on a reality literally 20 years ago in the past…

It is this EXACT line of thought that has resulted in Florida being in the position that it is now…

It is amazing that people still believe this.

All odds were against this team and they didn't quit.

It was been awesome to watch. I really don't care about the record. The turnaround of this team is what I was hoping for this year. Some people are going to play it down and there's always things to be looked at but the way this team is playing and the coaching effort has been something to remember and build off of.

All the NIL has done is leveled the playing field for the top 30 programs. Each year in CFB there were literally 4 to 6 teams that could win a natty. Now there are 15. With the NIL the rich will continue full steam ahead. Florida spent too much time dicking around before realizing we need to fix the NIL. Now good sir, until a non blue blood wins a natty then how is that thinking flawed?

To me, NIL has indeed brought more teams into contention. And it is not even the “buying a title”. The days of Kirby and Saban being 4 deep at every position is over. And you see it this year with UGa, Kirby now has to coach the games to win, which he is not elite at. There are ups and downs to it. I mean, more teams competing, but nothing is guaranteed. If we went 6-6 next year DJ could just walk up to OSU and play his final year with Jermiah Smith. Schools will have to learn to take the good with the bad.

We are still in the evolution stage of NIL. The new recipe will eventually be to have one or two multi-billionaire alum that want to see the school win at football that just give the program enough to sustain an elite payroll for both players and coaches. What if Vandy had a deep pocket donor willing to give 30M a year? Heck, what if LA Tech had a deep pocket donor willing to give 30M a year? Tell prospective coaches, "we are offering 10M, you get 5M to hire assistants, and a 15M NIL pool to recruit players", how long until LA Tech is competing for a playoff spot? I think 2 years. How long until the Big 12 or somebody is offering them a membership? Less than 5.

And if that happens, guess what the rich blue bloods will do? That's right, offer up $60m per year...all that will happen is up the ante. So it's all just nebulous bull shit until someone other than a power school in a power conference starts winning nattys. My very humble opinion is that if the NIL continues on this path, you will see another division created with roughly 30 schools...and candidly we are almost there with the big 10 and SEC.
