Billy took over a terrible situation, and should of burnt it to the ground and started over. Unfortunately, he had a future 1st round pick and tried to win immediately. Didn't work, so he tore it down and started fresh in year 2. After two losing seasons and facing the hardest schedule in the history of college football, the standard for Billy to get a 4th year was simple. Show that the team had improved.
The answer is yes, this team has improved. We are better than we were last year. We are better than we were at the start of the year. The defense is light years ahead of where they were last year. Lagaway and Baugh give reason to be excited. And most importantly this team is starting to show a toughness and edge. They believe they can win and they love their coach.
