Happy Hillbillies…

Well they were 3-3 in their last 6 games. Offensively they were greatly improved this year, but in my mind they will continue to be middle of the pack in SEC. If history holds their coach tends to produce worse records each year he's there....so I would hold off on king of the world conversation
UT was 5-3 after losing to the Gators. Their other early loss was a close one to ACC champ Pitt. Their losses down the stretch were to Bama, Georgia & Ole Miss (barely), all Top 10 teams, 2 in the playoffs. They destroyed Missouri & South Carolina and beat Kentucky, all teams that beat us. Their offense got better and better as the season progressed and if you'll remember they started the season with a decimated team - they lost 30 players to the transfer portal with the coaching change and had a very mediocre recruiting class - similar to the situation the Gators are now in. I honestly think Tennessee will be significantly better next year and they will be our first away game. I know The Vols have underachieved over and over since the Phil Fulmer days, but I actually think Huepel is a solid coach, especially offensively, and we'll have our hands full at least for next year, IMO.

They lost a lot of players but I don’t think they lost 30. I think it was more around 17. And only 2-3 were contributors in Key Lawrence, Eric Gray and Henry To’ To’

Kentucky was the only decent win for them. Candidly SC and Mizzou were awful. Just for whatever reason Mullen turned us into a dumpster fire. Yes, Huepel is a great play caller, we will see how they do in year 2.

Saturday Down South article said 30. Other articles have said they were by far the hardest hit of any D1 program by transfers. Anytime you lose over 1/3 of your scholarship roster, not counting those who graduated or went pro, it's a major rebuild. To me Heupel did a tremendous job considering what he started with.

Heupel has done great with all the adversity. It’s going to be tough to extend the streak in Knoxville next year.
