And what thanks do I get for this? I get dismissed as a POG, and my gear gets rifled through by grunts with sticky fingers, and I get vomit, dip spit, and trash on my deckplates. I enjoyed being the crew chief of an Assault Amphibian Vehicle very much, but sometimes those embarked infantry weren't worth the diesel I wasted to haul them around.

There are bad apples in all sectors of the Marines, my grunt son can attest to that.
He‘s a proud 331, loves his company (Fox Company to be exact - a part of Weapons Company, although he told me their changing the name of his Company from Fox to Helo as the Marines are trending back to their roots and he and his brothers will be getting transported by helicopter to LZ’s once deployed), he rarely uses that term because he actually does have respect for ALL Marines.
But as I stated in my opening sentence, he has hinted at there being more than a few “questionable” members of his Company.

You're a Marine dad, to an infantryman, Semper Fi, Oorah, RAH, Kill, all perfectly acceptable.
I generally use that one, or "Yut. " Not because I'm particularly motivated, I just want the officers to know I'm awake and paying attention to whatever nonsense they are on about.
