The Gates are back in business! Give this man a HUGE raise and 3 to 4 year extension.

Hey you guys better watch out. Never know how things will turn out.

I remember many on here were posting the same or similar about Jimbo during his early career. Then he flipped the script and started beating out asses along with other SEC teams and Miami.

Doubt it happens but you never know.

Jimbo didn't "flip the script" and start beating you. He was beating your ass right out of the gate.

Coaching Career of Jim Fischer and his record against Florida:

Auburn QB Coach (1993-98): 2-4 vs Florida
Gator beatdowns --> by Danny Wuerffel, Doug Johnson, Jesse 'The Bachelor' Palmer.
'95: 49-38
'96: 51-10
'97: 24-10
'98: 24-3

LSU QB coach/OC (2000-2006): 3-4 vs Florida
More Gator Beatdowns --> by Rex Grossman, Chris Leak & freshman Tim Tebow in '06:
'00: 41-9
'01: 44-15
'03: 19-7
'06: 23-10

FSU OC (2007-2009): 0-3 vs Florida
Three more beat downs by Tim Tebow:
'07: 45-12
'08: 45-15
'09: 37-10

Before becoming FSU's coach, Fischer had a grand record of 5- 11 against the Gators, many of them have been absolute humiliating defeats! Four different Florida coaches (Spurrier, Zook, Meyer, Muschamp) have registered wins against Fischer.

Even with a 6-1 record against UF as FSU's head coach, Fischer, just like the semi's (25-34-2) still has a career losing record against the Florida Gators!

So, stamp that on your semi-nole forehead!

LOL won't you give us our RB coach record against uf also?? Just stop man you look silly doing this. Fisher is 6-1 vs uf. Deal with it.

Oh no we are fully aware that our program is at its lowest point in decades. Congrats to jimbo for being in the right place at the right time. But jamie is gone and he is back to losing games he shouldn't every year. And if out AD gets it, we will find a real coach and climb out of mediocrity.

Here is a history lesson on the futility of FSU's coaches against THE University of Florida:

1958 Tom Nugent (0-1) <-- Any relation to Ted?
1959 Moss (0-1) <-- Talk about off with his head after one season; no wonder Randy didn't stay!
1960-1970 Peterson (2-8-1) <- A Decade of fsu futility but he gets the semi's 1st win ever against the Gators!
Larry Jones (0-3) <-"Another One Bites the Dust!"
--------------------------------Hey, Hey! ---------------
Dan Mudra (0-2) <-"Another One Bites the Dust!"
--------------------------------Hey, Hey! ---------------

Let's take a breath before FSU's savior comes aboard
--- FSU's record vs UF in 1976: 2-16-1
That's a -14 game deficit against those Gators in 1976!

Bowden came just in time to be part of that historic 9-game losing streak against Florida from 1968-1976.

After Bowden ripped off an FSU first 4-straight wins against Doug Dickey's Florida Gators,
1979: FSU still losing 6-16-1 (-10 game deficit!)
---------------------------------------------------------------------
From 1980 to 1986, Charlie Pell & Galen Hall re-introduced Semi fans about Gator Domination: FSU's has another 6-game losing streak. What is FSU's record vs UF in 1986?
6-22-1 (-16 game deficit which was the worst all-time deficit against UF.)
--------------------------------------------------------------------
Due to Florida's NCAA sanctions (& a crippling loss of 25 scholarships), Bowden & FSU are on their 2nd modest 4-game winning streak from 1987-1990.
FSU record then: 10-22-1 (-12 game deficit against the Gators). The semi's finally won 10 total games (in 1990) against the Gators - remember your history!
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
From 1991-97, it was a game of attrition (4-4-1) in which neither school had the edge. This period was the best such streak against Florida in FSU's long history. Both schools won their first national title, had Heisman winners, and both teams finished with 100+ wins in a decade for the first time.
FSU's record then: 14-26-2 (Still a -12 game deficit against UF).
---------------------------------------------------------------------
From 1998-2003, this was Bowden's career peak before the fast decline began. FSU was 5-1 against UF during this period. FSU won one NC in 1999 but lost two more in embarrassing fashion.
FSU's record then: 19-27-2. {-8 game deficit against UF}
This was the breakthrough for semi fans. It was the first time that the deficit they had against UF actually came down to under 10 games.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
However, from 2004-2009, the cold reality sets in with yet another 6-game losing streak against UF. What ever gains Bowden had in 2003, it was lost again by 2009 which included Fischer's time as fsu OC from 2007-2009.

FSU's record vs UF in 2009: 19-33-2.{-14 game deficit against UF}
Bowden's record against UF: 17- 18 -1 (Losing Record!)
The 2000s was Florida's 2nd decade of winning 100+ games, two more NC's in football, and one Heisman.

======================================

While McElwain is a dissappointing 0-2 against FSU and Fischer is a remarkable 6-1 against UF, this series is DESTINED to get back to REALITY!

Fischer, in reality, has lost more often against Florida football teams than winning it (see above post). While this is FSU's 3rd 4-game losing streak against UF, they have NEVER historically had a streak longer than 4-games.

Meanwhile, Florida has two 6-game winning streaks and one 9-game winning streak over FSU in building their 34-25-2 series lead!
UF: 9 + 6 + 6 + (13) = 34
fsu: 4 + 4 + 4 + (13) = 25
------------------------------------
{-9 game deficit for fsu in the series}

To recap FSU's futility against THE University of Florida:

1958-1976 (2-16-1) {-14 game deficit against UF}
1958-1979 (6-16-1) {-10 game deficit against UF}
1958-1986 (6-22-1) {-16 game deficit against UF}
1958-1990 (10-22-1) {-12 game deficit against UF}
1958-1997 (14-26-2) {-12 game deficit against UF}
1958-2003 (19-27-2) {-8 game deficit against UF}
1958-2009 (19-33-2) {-14 game deficit against UF}
1958-2016 (25-34-2) {-9 game deficit against UF}

Those are the cold hard FACTS!

Recruiting. Thats the difference here.
It's hard to argue with that...all of the best teams get the players. I think that Mac has made lemonade out of LOTS of lemons but if you don't get the players then it will catch up. Mac has had a very weak SEC East to help out but he's done a great job IMO...however Florida fans expect SEC titles and National titles and when we don't win against the best teams we don't expect to get our teeth kicked in and that's what we've seen so far. Unless we are consistently are getting top 10 ten recruiting classes...one after the next...we need to be in the top 10 and have some top 5 classes. I don't see it this year but he better have another winning year on the field and a very good recruiting class after this one. Mac has been a strong closer but we'll see what happens. I hope that man gets the job done but if not...bring in a proven head coach if possible...sounds easy but it's not. There are a lot of other programs have money, tradition and great locations and they haven't gotten "the guy". Look at USC...this is there best season since Pete Carroll left...in fact they have been average and bad...he's been at Seattle for about 7 years now....not that easy.

This is a ridiculous post...Jimbo is a good head coach and a damn good recruiter. You have to give the man props for what he's done at FSU.

The only reason UF has a winning record over fsu is because we were terrible the first 20 yrs we played. We basically were a womans school ;)

Since we became relevant, it has been about even to be honest. We have won 6 out of the last 7 but before that u guys went on a win streak. Bragging overall record is like a cane fan saying they have 5 championships. If my great grand father was alive for it, it doesnt count anymore. U could do last 10 yrs or last 20 yrs even and that would hold more relevance

Most Noles fans know you are probably correct because once FSU gets close to having a winning record against uf, FSU will get dropped from their schedule just Miami.

------------------------------------
{-9 game deficit for fsu in the series}

To recap FSU's futility against THE University of Florida:

1958-1976 (2-16-1) {-14 game deficit against UF}
1958-1979 (6-16-1) {-10 game deficit against UF}
1958-1986 (6-22-1) {-16 game deficit against UF}
1958-1990 (10-22-1) {-12 game deficit against UF}
1958-1997 (14-26-2) {-12 game deficit against UF}
1958-2003 (19-27-2) {-8 game deficit against UF}
1958-2009 (19-33-2) {-14 game deficit against UF}
1958-2016 (25-34-2) {-9 game deficit against UF}

Those are the cold hard FACTS!

Typical Insta post.

Southern Cal has been on NCAA probation so that has it's effect since Carrol left the program. The Reggie Bush ncaa violations led to a loss of 20-25 scholarships for the trojans. That's something that happened to Florida in the mid/late 1980s and it took those Gators some time to get back to the full 85-man roster.

For Florida recently, it has been a 'self-imposed' scholarship reduction is what I have heard. Since Florida does not over sign in their recruiting classes, they have never been able to be fully stocked. I believe McElwain is getting closer in having Florida get a complete roster again.

2015 following a fired cluster ____.
Mc went 10-4, SECe-C, SEC CoY, projected to win 7 at best, and #5 in the SECe.

2016, after being projected to win 8 at the very best, and #3 in the SECe.
Mc went 9-4 (10-4 without the hurricane), won the SECe again, and just stomped Iowa while playing a passel of true Fr and a WO LB due to so many injuries.

He came in to a 90'something class with 6-7 commits.
He finished with the #21 class including the #1 OT.
Then he brought in the #12 class, moving up 9 spots after just 13 months on the job.
On NSD, we'll see how he's done for the 2017 class.

He already has a nice contract with earned bonus extras.
When this contract runs out, then they will give him whatever he has earned.

Now Jimblow can't even win his division of the Almost Compeititve.
Did reFSUcks give him a new extension with a huge raise for that, or did they just BUY him another state of Florida Championship Ring....:D

To be fair....Jimbo HAS won ACC titles and and a national title while mac has just won the sec east while it is terrible. However, Mac deserves a HUGE raise. He has them going in the right direction

UF 16 - 10 @ LSU

Iowa 14 - 13 Mich (Iowa has a defense)
reFSUcks 33 - 32 Mich (neither seemed to have a defense)
UF 30 - 3 Iowa (playiing tFr and a WO at LB, UF still had a defense)

I just think that the criminoles were lucky to get an injury plagued UF at the end of a long season in tallycrappy. That probably won't be the case in 2017.... ;)
If one of the Gator Fr QB's comes on in 2017, Katie bar the door...

PS
Usually, a division champ in the SEC is better than being the ACC-C.
JMOHO of course... :cool:

The only reason UF has a winning record over fsu is because we were terrible the first 20 yrs we played. We basically were a womans school ;)

Since we became relevant, it has been about even to be honest. We have won 6 out of the last 7 but before that u guys went on a win streak. Bragging overall record is like a cane fan saying they have 5 championships. If my great grand father was alive for it, it doesnt count anymore. U could do last 10 yrs or last 20 yrs even and that would hold more relevance

Oh, Cry me a river. All games count.:D
Your argument about relevancy is false.:rolleyes:

Both UF & FSU (along w/Miami) began going to bowl games in the 1950s. In those days, you had to have some decent winning seasons to go bowling. Note: All three Florida teams became relevant beginning in the 1950s.

Besides, Florida only played FSU twice in the 1950s. It could have been much worse for the seminoles had Florida cared enough back then to play FSU more often.:) FSU played in two bowl games ('55 & '58) just like Florida ('53, '58). The ability to go to bowl games was the reason why fsu was 'relevant enough' for Florida to take some interest in playing them beginning in 1958.;)

Meanwhile during the1950s, fellow in-state rival Miami managed to pick up quite a number of wins over FSU (6 games to 1 hurricanes!).

Florida & Miami first began getting ranked in AP top 20 (not top 25) during the 1950s.
In the 1960s, FSU soon began getting ranked in the top 20, too. In those days (since the polls extended to only to the top 20 teams) it was much harder to be ranked and much harder to go to bowl games than it is today. That means, all three state of Florida teams were on similar footing by the 1960s which culminated in Steve Spurrier winning the state's & UF's 1st Heisman trophy.

In the 50s/60s/70s, FSU began having some success against Miami. By 1974, the FSU-UM series was tied 9-9. However against Florida, the Gators thoroughly dominated the series: 14-2-1.

Seminole fans can't have it both ways. In this same time frame (50s-70s), fsu had success against Miami but Florida was the big, SEC bully on the block.

The argument that these state of Florida teams were not relevant until they have won their first national titles (i.e, '83, '96, '93) is fallacious. Only a simpleton millennial who has no appreciation for history would say only what happened when 'i' was alive matters. Therefore, all games count in this series.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

A decade by decade recap of the Florida-FSU series:

1950s: 0-2 Gators! {FSU: two bowl games; UF: two bowl games}
1960s: 2-7-1 Gators! {FSU: three top20 finishes; UF: four top20 finishes}
1970s: 3-7 Gators! {FSU: three top20 finishes; UF: two top20 finishes}
1980s: 4-6 Gators! {FSU: eight top20 finishes & four top 5 finishes;
UF: four top20 finishes & three top 6 finishes} You're not going to discount the 1980s team accomplishments are you?
1990s: 7-4-1 FSU!
2000s: 3-7 Gators!

2010s: 6-1 FSU!
------------------------------------------------
Against UF, I will concede that FSU has already won the 2010s decade along with the 1990s. However, Florida has won the decades of the 2000s, 1980s, 1970s (when Bobby started), 1960s and the 1950s when all three state of Florida teams first became 'relevant' by going to numerous bowl games, getting ranked in the polls, and finally winning numerous national titles!

Florida still leads the UF-FSU series 34-25-2
! ;)
Remember that! :cool:

This is a ridiculous post...Jimbo is a good head coach and a damn good recruiter. You have to give the man props for what he's done at FSU.

Yet Fischer actually stood on the opponents sideline or booth and witnessed
MORE LOSSES to the Florida Gators than wins! A 23-game sample is quite a lot of ball games against one team.

For those mathematically challenged,
(5-11)
+ (6-1)
-----------------
11-12 (6-4 at FSU, 5-8 at LSU, Auburn) is Fischer's actual record against ALL of the Florida football teams that he has faced over the years!

Hey, Fischer is getting more credit than the six wins over UF as the FSU head coach.
However, he also gets credit for the losses to UF, too.

Even with how it's gone lately, it's gonna be a long ass time before they can close that gap.

Wow, that ancient home game streak that UF got when FSU was just beginning sure lends the same cred that Army gets from their early streaks. You realize that you have to go back more than 40 yrs to have a winning record vs the Noles. You now have recruits' parents that weren't born then. I'm certain this current streak pales in comparison. BTW, I do think you guys could take Army though.

You must have flunked elementary school math to come up with 70 years.

The series actually goes back 59 years (1958); however, because of two Sugar bowl match-ups, the series is now up to 61 total games.

Incidentally, ALL of the games count.
Florida leads 34-25-2!
