I’m saying mid 80’s? In the S.E.C. Championship Game I can hopefully ( Both teams SHOULD MAKE IT but, it IS 2020 ) see this being the team who lasts gets the ball or an O.T. game. We showed 2 things AGAIN yesterday and that’s:

1. We got an AWESOME Q.B. in Kyle Trask and a great offense full of receivers and a great O.L.

AND

2. Our defense is not very good and gives up to many big plays which Bama is thriving on this year.

Say we beat an undefeated Bama in O.T. like 63-62 and we are both 9-1. Do you take Two SEC teams over say an undefeated team who only played 6 or 7 games due to Covid like an OSU or Wisconsin? Or over a weak conference ala The Big 12?

But, that’s for another day. Right now let’s focus on kicking Vandy’s ARSE ( In my Best Jim Rome voice ) and getting Kyle another 4-6 T.D. passes while Kyle the T.E. gets healthy.

Lets get through Vandy, Kentucky, Tennessee, and LSU first.

Our D still has a lot to work on.

Okie State is the only 1 loss team in the Big 12, I don't think they can get in even if they win out. They aren't Oklahoma. Name matters.

Same issue with Big 10. Undefeated tOSU gets in, undefeated Wisky might get left out (in your scenario).

My biggest concern with your scenario is, what if TAMU wins out? Then the SEC would have 3 one-loss teams who all beat each other. What a mess it would be if we had one-loss teams Notre Dame, Clemson, Miami, TAMU, Alabama, Florida, Okie State and Wisconsin, and undefeated tOSU. Plus undefeated outsiders BYU and Cincinnati. Can Florida, the SEC champion, get left out? Well, I remember one year Penn State won the Big 10 but didn't get in, while tOSU did, but I think PSU had 2 losses that year, so may not be an apples to apples comparison.

I'd like to say no, that as SEC champ we would get first shot and they would never have a playoff without at least one SEC team, but lets face some reality. We are 1-1 this year against teams with winning records, and don't have a team left on the schedule with a winning record (maybe LSU can get back to a winning record by then). And what if Georgia starts to slide, now that they have nothing to play for? We might be looked at as the team that lost to the only good team they played before a fluke win over Bama (haters gonna hate, after all).

If the SEC takes away the LSU game, that would be diabolical. Even if we beat Bama we would only be 9-1 while they would be 10-1, and our SOS would be horrible. I can see scenarios where Bama ends up 4 and we end up 5. I really can.

No way they take Bama if we run the table and beat them. Our only loss by a last second score on the road.

In the scenario provided we beat Bama in OT by one point. We haven't seen the playoff polls yet, what if we are down around 7-8 then? Remember, we have only played 2 teams with a winning record this year and may not play another until Bama (depends on LSU). Plus there are two undefeated teams behind us in the AP poll, they could be ahead of us in the playoff poll. So if we are #7 and Bama is sitting at #1? You don't think we could end up #5 to their #4 with a close win?

No way they’re keeping you or Clemson out if you win out. These “playoffs” are as much brand as anything else. It’s an invitational based on record and logo, it’s why Oklahoma St and 2nd tier programs need to be undefeated at the end.

You are correct. And beating teams with winning records is tougher this year with no OOC opponents.

Just make it 8 teams this year.

You think if you lose 2 games you should be in over an undefeated team who earned it? Lol I thought this was from an fsu fan for a second its so delusional

If fsu had your easy schedule we would be a 3 loss team. You are lucky you dont play 3 top 5 teams.... Its brutal over here in the ACC
