Horrible 4 minute stretch where we were outscored 17-2, but ended the half on a nice little run. Way too many turnovers by our guards. Barry must still be hurt, as he's not been able to do anything. Thornwell is a true Go-to guy who can take over a game. Wish we had one like that.
Allen with 14 points. Robinson with three blocks.
Kasey is having a good offensive game too. Eight points. Both from the field and at the FT line. That is fortunate because the rest of his game, other than his one steal, has been dog crap
I like Allen, but to me Thornwell is the SEC MVP. He's strong, creates, drives with power, plays great defense and can pass like a point guard.
Kasey had a very good second half. The whole team had a good second half.

Totally agree. No superstars and all the players have strengths and weaknesses. But you can see they have dedicated themselves to each other and really give great effort every game. Mike White should be SEC coach of the year. What a job he's done with this group.
We need to win @KY to win the SEC regular season and get a 2 seed in the tourney.
If we were playing anywhere but Rupp in the nation i'd expect a win, no matter how they play you know how it's going to favor in that game. But they still don't look very good and if anyone could have a chance anyway there it's this team and the way they share the ball... The way to beat UK in rupp, the 3 ball... I knew if we hit just a few against Sc there was no way they could beat us like the first time, we went 9-19. That's plenty enough, and we scored over 80 without barry scoring a single point. That's a good sign...
Not exactly - on the current 8-9 game win streak he was never the leading scorer, although he's the team's leader for the season. Allen did lead last night though.
It is amazing how different guys step up each game. But for last night, to me this was the key: 1st half we had 5 assists and 11 turnovers, 2nd half we had 10 assists and 4 turnovers. Plus we were 22-27 from the free throw line for the game. Take better care of the ball, get better shots and limit runouts for the other team. Then make your free throws. That equals winning basketball
It's pretty simple. We're gonna go as our guards go. If they have good games, we'll win. If they collectively have a stinker, we can be beaten.
Fortunately for us during this stretch, one (or more) of the three seem to pick up the slack for the others just at the right time. They just gotta keep doing that.
Experienced/solid guard play is critical in the NCAA tournament...and we certainly have that component.

Great win. I'm just really impressed how this team keeps trucking, no matter who's out or who's not playing well or who's not getting minutes on a particular night. Mike White is doing a great job with this team. The team is getting more and more confident offensively. We've pretty much been shooting the lights out, other than MSU, since we hit that skid a month ago.
