The Gators come away with a 3-1 win over the Rebels on Sunday.
They are. Freshman Taylor Parks has been playing better than Alexis Stuckey, who is probably still not back to 100% following her devastating knee injury last year. And we still have 2 key players out for the season with injuries. It seems that this year the SEC has no elite teams, but is very deep and extremely competitive, top to bottom. Texas, who has won the last 2 national titles, has lost 3 straight conference games and is tied with Florida at 7-3 in the SEC behind 8-2 Kentucky & 7-2 Missouri. When the Gators are playing well, they can beat anyobody in the country. They just go through these stretches where they don't pass well, get out of synch, have a lot of service errors and a bunch of hitting errors. I still love watching them play.
Gators starting to play like a Top 10 team. Taylor Parks, the freshman, has gotten better and better at setter, Kennedy Martin playing like a first team AA and the defense is very good.

If we win our last 2 matches, maybe a 15 or 16 seed. Lose one and probably 18 -20. Our low SOS won't move us any higher.
So there goes our chances of hosting. Look at the stats, but they don't tell the full story. South Carolina had THIRTY service errors and still beat us. They outplayed us on the floor - crisper passing, better defense, fewer attack errors, plus the won almost every joust at the net and simply outhustled us. Kennedy Martin had a bad match, Taylor Parks didn't play well, Alec Rothe got so many shots blocked and hit something like -.250. Very Disappointing.

Florida had 13 service errors and 9 aces, Kansas had only 4 service errors and 5 aces. Florida had 54 digs, Kansas 53. Both teams had 12 blocks. Florida had 6 blocking errors, Kansas only had 1. Even match, although we had way more errors than Kansas. Reduce all the various types of errors and we win fairly easily. Kennedy Martin with 33 kills, hit .310. Isabel Martin with 18 kills, hit .361. Jaela Auguste had 15 kills, hit .440. Elli McKissock with 19 digs, Emily Canaan with 9, Alexis Stuckey and Izzy Martin with 7 each. Stuckey had 40 assists, Taylor Parks 27. Very nice win, on the road against a #3 seed. Gooo Gators!!!

On some boards she's getting heavily criticized by some who think times have passed her by because she's not playing some of the newer offensive sets some successful coaches are using. What a crock, IMO.
