This is the best I’ve felt about Gator football and basketball on Christmas Eve in well over a decade.
I have young kids. They’re finally asleep. Wife and I just finished putting presents under the tree. I poured some Basil Hayden. Life is great.
I never realized this, but part of my Christmas Eve tradition has been reflecting on the current Gator football and basketball teams. It’s a rare and calm moment when I’m not thinking about work or politics or other BS in the world.
It’s been a rough stretch for Gator fans since 2009. Sure, there have been some good moments. But they’ve been quickly erased by bad coaching hires, sharks, terrible offenses, terrible defenses, and coaches quitting on their teams.
But tonight, all that is in the rearview mirror.
We’ve got one of the hottest football teams heading into the offseason along with some heavy recruiting mojo.
We’ve got a basketball team that is as deep and void of any real deficiencies as dare I say the….nope, not gonna jinx it.
Gator life is good.
Thanks to Jason and all the insiders who make me feel like I have an inside track as to what’s happening with Gator Sports.
