Program Record 31 Gators Named to SEC Spring Academic Honor Roll. The previous program record was 30 in the 2022 campaign
GAINESVILLE, Fla. - The University of Florida women's lacrosse team once against proved their academic dominance as 31 student-athletes were named to the SEC Spring Academic Honor Roll, as the league announced Thursday.
The 31 honorees are the most by the lacrosse team in program history.
Between lacrosse, baseball, golf, softball, tennis and track & field, the University of Florida had an astounding 137 student-athletes named to the Spring SEC Academic Honor Roll.
On the field, the Gators finished the 2023 season with a 17-4 record overall and a 5-1 run in conference play. For the 10th time in program history, including the ninth-straight year, the Gators were able to hoist the conference tournament championship trophy, having defeated then-No. 6 James Madison in the AAC Championship game.
To be recognized for the SEC Academic Honor Roll, each student-athlete must meet the following criteria: 1) have a GPA of 3.00 for either the preceding academic year or have a cumulative GPA of 3.00 or above at the nominating institution; 2) be on scholarship, a letterwinner or have participated on a varsity team for two years if non-scholarship; 3) have completed 24 semester hours of non-remedial credit at the nominating institution; and 4) have been a member of the varsity team for the sport's entire NCAA Championship segment.

Gators Place 137 on SEC Spring Academic Honor Roll
GAINESVILLE, Fla. - The University of Florida placed 137 student-athletes on the 2023 Southeastern Conference Spring Academic Honor Roll, announced today by league commissioner Greg Sankey.
The 2023 SEC Spring Academic Honor Roll is based on grades from the 2022-23 summer, fall and spring terms. Florida placed 322 student-athletes on 2022-23 SEC Fall (113), Winter (72) and Spring Academic Honor Rolls.
Nine from the NCAA champion men's golf team earned spots on the SEC Academic Honor Roll to equal program record set in 2008. Florida men's track & field set its program record with 26 on the 2023 list while the women's team placed 24 on the Academic Honor Roll. The 2023 SEC champion and NCAA runner-up Gator baseball team placed 19 on the honor roll - the second-highest total in program history.
For the third consecutive season, Gators lacrosse raised their all-time record for SEC Academic Honor Roll, with 31 on the 2023 list. Softball's 14 honorees was one away from its record set in 2021. Other sport honoree numbers included women's golf (6), men's tennis (3) and women's tennis (5).
Notes About Gator Honorees:
* Three NCAA individual champions earned a spot on the SEC Academic Honor Roll. Fred Biondi became the first Gator since 2001 to win the NCAA Golf medalist title. Jasmine Moore swept long and triple jump titles in NCAA Indoor action and also won the 2023 NCAA outdoor triple jump. Jacory Patterson ran the second leg on Florida's record-setting NCAA outdoor champion 4x400 relay.
* Three Gators who picked up yearly SEC honors are on the SEC Academic Honor Roll - Talitha Diggs (SEC Indoor Runner of the Year), Jasmine Moore (SEC Indoor & Outdoor Field Athlete of the Year) and Jacory Patterson (SEC Indoor Runner of the Year). Diggs also claimed the SEC Women's Track & Field Scholar-Athlete honor for 2023 and became Florida's first track athlete to be College Sports Communicators Academic All-American of the Year
* The SEC Academic Honor Roll includes the league's softball player of the year, Skylar Wallace. She was named the TUCCI/National Fastpitch Coaches Association Division I Player of the Year
* Jasmine Moore swept the USTFCCCA indoor and outdoor national field athlete of the year plus was named track & field's Honda Award winner
* Florida's two who claimed American Athletic Conference lacrosse player of the year honors earned spots on SEC Academic Honor Roll: Emily Heller (Midfielder of the Year) and Sarah Reznick (Goalkeeper).
* Track & field's Parker Valby, who was the 2022 SEC Cross Country Runner of the Year and won the NCAA Outdoor 5,000 run title, also appears on the SEC Academic Honor Roll.
* Chase Ruskin (Track & Field) receives a $10,000 post-graduate scholarship as a nominee for the H. Boyd McWhorter Scholar-Athlete of Year award.
* Cavan Wilson (track & field) receives a $5,000 post-graduate scholarship as a nominee for the 2023 Brad Davis SEC Community Leaders award.

Gators Claim Five Medals on Second Night of Phillips 66 National Championships
Dressel, Lazor, Ledecky, Sims and Smith all earn podium spots
INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - Five swimmers with Florida ties claimed five medals on the second night of the Phillips 66 National Championships, as Caeleb Dressel, Annie Lazor, Katie Ledecky, Bella Sims and Kieran Smith all found themselves on the podium Wednesday evening.
Volunteer coach Ledecky and incoming freshman Bella Sims went two-three in the 200m free A-final to open up the night. Ledecky's 1:55.28 was just .02 away from first, while Sims set a personal-best 1:56.08, nearly a second-ahead of her previous best.
In the C-final, Isabel Ivey went 1:59.32 to finish second, while incoming freshmen Michael Mattes (fourth) and Lainy Kruger (eighth) competed in the D-final.
In the men's 200m free, Smith went 1:45.63 for national runner up, dropping .47 seconds off his prelim time. Jake Mitchell, who's headed into his senior season, just missed the podium, finishing fourth at 1:46.25 but still qualified for the 800m free relay team at the World Championships next month.
Assistant Coach Annie Lazor earned a spot on the podium in the women's 200m breast, clocking a 2:25.86 to finish third. Incoming freshman Grace Rainey went 2:34.39 in the D-final for fifth.
Caeleb Dressel earned bronze in the 50m fly, dropping an event-best .44 seconds off his prelim time to swim 23.35, as the seven-time Olympic gold medalist continues to make strides in his comeback.
Clocking a personal-best 23.80 in the 50m fly B-final, Jace Crawford placed second in the group, and tenth overall.
Natalie Hinds racked up a sixth-place finish in the women's 50m fly, dropping a quarter of a second from her prelim time to finish 26.20. Olivia Peoples also dropped a quarter of a second off her prelim time to finish in second of the B-final to tally a personal-best 26.60.
In the women's 200m back, Jo Jo Ramey, who will be on the roster this fall, went 2:10.58 in the A-final to finish eighth among the nation's best.
Incoming freshman Catie Choate went a personal-best 2:10.94, dropping over two seconds from her previous time to finish fourth in the B-final.
Caleb Maldari, who will join the team in the fall, finished sixth in the 200m back B-final, clocking a 1:59.48 during the evening session. Future teammate Amadeusz Knop clocked a 2:02.29 to place fifth in the D-final.

Katie Ledecky reigned supreme during her morning swim, finishing as the top time with a 1:55.49. Incoming freshman Bella Sims joins Ledecky in the A-final after finishing fourth with a time of 1:57.07. Isabel Ivey and Emma Weyant both qualified for the C-final after Ivey clocked a 1:59.33 for 18th with Weyant finishing 20th at 1:59.78.
Lainy Kruger and Michaela Mattes, both freshman during the 2023-24 season, finished 44th and 47th during the morning. Micayla Cronk finished 53rd with a 2:03.68.
Men's 200 Free
Jake Mitchell and Kieran Smith will both represent the Gators in the A-final. Mitchell went 1:45.82 to finish fourth, one slot ahead of Smith's fifth-place finish at 1:46.10.
Women's 200 Breast
Newly-hired assistant coach Annie Lazor posted a 2:26.51 during the morning to finish with the third-best time overall and a spot in the A-Final. Incoming freshman Grace Rainey touched the wall in 2:34.50 for 28th to qualify in the D-Final.
Men's 200 Breast
The lone Gator in the event, Peter Bretzmann finished 28th during his morning swim at 2:16.77 for a spot in the D-Final.
Women's 200 Back
Jo Jo Ramey, an incoming freshman, notched the final spot in the A-final, finishing eighth at 2:09.69. Fellow 2023-24 freshman Catie Choate quailed for the B-Final after clocking a 2:12.33 to tie for 15th. Zoe Dixon finished 34th after swimming a 2:15.74.
Men's 200 Back
Incoming freshman Caleb Maldari notched a 1:57.86, narrowly missing an automatic qualification to the A-final with a ninth-place finish. Amadeusz Knop went 2:03.78 to place 45th and earn a spot in the D-final.
Women's 50 Fly
Natalie Hinds jumped out early to get a 26.45 for an A-final spot, while Olivia Peoples placed 11th at 26.85. Aris Runnels went 27.46 to place 28th.
Men's 50 Fly
Caeleb Dressel qualified for his first A-final of the week, finishing seventh at 23.79 to earn the chance at a title. Jace Crawford (24.06) earned a B-final spot, while incoming freshman Scotty Buff (24.50) will swim in the C-final.
The 2023 Phillips 66 National Championships continue Thursday, with prelims starting at 10 a.m. ET and finals at 7 p.m. ET. The prelims are streamed on the USA Swimming Youtube page while the finals are available on Peacock.
Talitha Diggs named Women’s Track and Field/Cross Country Academic All-American of the Year
Claire Bryant and Talitha Diggs receive First Team Academic All-American Honors
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Florida Gators Track and Field sprinter Talitha Diggs was named the NCAA Division I Women’s Track and Field/Cross Country Academic All-American of the Year by the College Sports Communicators (CSC) on Wednesday afternoon. Both Diggs and jumper Claire Bryant were named to the CSC Academic All-American First Team, the first CSC All-American honors of their careers.
This honor is Diggs’ second academic accolade of the season, previously being named the SEC Women's Outdoor Track & Field Scholar Athlete of the Year. Off the track, Diggs maintains a 3.67 GPA, double majoring in political science and international studies with a concentration in Asia. She previously earned the honors of 2021 and 2022 USTFCCCA All-Academic honoree and 2021 and 2022 SEC Academic Honor Roll member.
On the track, Diggs is an 11-time USTFCCCA All-American and an eight-time All-SEC honoree. Her athletic accomplishments include 2023 SEC Indoor 400m Champion, 2022 World Champion in the 4x400, 2022 USATF Outdoor 400m Champion, 2022 NCAA Indoor and Outdoor 400m Champion, and 2021 SEC Indoor 400m Champion. She also holds 14 spots on UF All-Time Top-10 lists in a variety of events and was the 2023 USTFCCCA Indoor Region Women's Runner of the Year.
Claire Bryant was tabbed to the CSC First Team after earning a 3.58 in Advertising while winning bronze in the long jump (6.68m/21'11") at the SEC Outdoor Championship and finishing fifth in the long jump (6.44m/21'1.5") at the NCAA Outdoor Championship.
Bryant and Diggs were joined by Imani Carothers and Jordan Shapiro on the Academic All-District Team.

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The Southeastern Conference announced the women's basketball home and road assignments for their 2023-24 campaign on Wednesday. The Gators rotation of opponents consist of five singular road games, five home only contests, and three home-and-home series.
The five permanent matchups to be hosted at the Stephen C. O'Connell Center are: Arkansas, Auburn, Missouri, South Carolina, and Texas A&M. The five road contests for the Gators will be against Alabama, Kentucky, LSU, Tennessee, and Vanderbilt. Lastly for the 2023-24 Southeastern Conference play schedule, there will be three rotating opponents where the Florida Gators will face-off both at home and away against Georgia, Ole Miss, and Mississippi State.
For the 15th year, every team within the Southeastern conference will play a 16-game schedule. All schools will host eight contests on their home court, while traveling for the other eight scheduled matchups. The rotation of opponents changes yearly, but this marks the 12th season in which 14 women's basketball teams are set to compete in the conference.

ABCA Honors O’Sullivan as Southeast Region Coach of the Year
Florida's skipper earns his third-career ABCA Southeast Region Coach of the Year nod.
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – University of Florida Head Baseball Coach Kevin O'Sullivan has been named the NCAA Division I Southeast Region Coach of the Year, as announced by the American Baseball Coaches Association.
The announcement marks the third-career Southeast Region Coach of the Year accolade for O'Sullivan and the first since earning consecutive nods from 2016-17. Florida's skipper was also honored as the 2017 ABCA National Coach of the Year during the Gators' national title run.
The ABCA/ATEC National and Regional Coaches of the Year are selected by members of the ABCA All-America and Coach of the Year committees in all nine divisions: NCAA Divisions I, II and III, NAIA, NJCAA Divisions I, II and III, Pacific Association Division and high school.
This past season, O'Sullivan guided the Orange & Blue to a program-record 54 wins as the team advanced to the NCAA College World Series Finals in Omaha, Neb. The Gators captured their 16th SEC Regular-Season Championship including the sixth in the O'Sullivan era. On the way to earning the 13th College World Series berth in program history and eighth in 16 seasons under O'Sullivan, Florida also secured its 15th NCAA Regional title and won its ninth Super Regional.
A league-leading seven Gators achieved All-SEC honors in 2023 while another four members of the Orange & Blue were named All-Americans. Furthermore, UF set single-season team records in home runs (145), strikeouts (725), strikeouts per nine (10.6) and offensive hit-by-pitches (90).

Founded in 1945, the American Baseball Coaches Association is the primary professional organization for baseball coaches at the amateur level. Its over 15,000 members represent all 50 states and 40 countries. Since its initial meeting of 27 college baseball coaches in June 1945, Association membership has broadened to include nine divisions: NCAA Division I, II and III, NAIA, NJCAA, Pacific Association Division, High School, Youth and Travel.
UF MBK: Gators to Visit Wake Forest in ACC/SEC Challenge
It will be Florida's first trip to Wake Forest since December 3, 1994
GAINESVILLE, Fla. - Florida men's basketball will visit Wake Forest in the inaugural ACC/SEC Challenge on Wednesday, Nov. 29, at 7:15 p.m. Television network designation will be announced at a later date.
Florida will play an ACC-heavy nonconference slate with a contest vs. Virginia in Charlotte and a home meeting in the annual rivalry series with Florida State also on slated.
The Gators hold an all-time 7-5 record vs. Wake Forest, dating back to 1936. The teams last met on Dec. 20, 2014, a 63-50 Florida win in the Orange Bowl Classic in Sunrise, Fla. UF last visited Wake under Lon Kruger, an 81-70 victory on Dec. 3, 1994.

GAINESVILLE, Fla. - The University of Florida women's lacrosse team once against proved their academic dominance as 31 student-athletes were named to the SEC Spring Academic Honor Roll, as the league announced Thursday.
The 31 honorees are the most by the lacrosse team in program history.
Between lacrosse, baseball, golf, softball, tennis and track & field, the University of Florida had an astounding 137 student-athletes named to the Spring SEC Academic Honor Roll.
On the field, the Gators finished the 2023 season with a 17-4 record overall and a 5-1 run in conference play. For the 10th time in program history, including the ninth-straight year, the Gators were able to hoist the conference tournament championship trophy, having defeated then-No. 6 James Madison in the AAC Championship game.
To be recognized for the SEC Academic Honor Roll, each student-athlete must meet the following criteria: 1) have a GPA of 3.00 for either the preceding academic year or have a cumulative GPA of 3.00 or above at the nominating institution; 2) be on scholarship, a letterwinner or have participated on a varsity team for two years if non-scholarship; 3) have completed 24 semester hours of non-remedial credit at the nominating institution; and 4) have been a member of the varsity team for the sport's entire NCAA Championship segment.

Gators Place 137 on SEC Spring Academic Honor Roll
GAINESVILLE, Fla. - The University of Florida placed 137 student-athletes on the 2023 Southeastern Conference Spring Academic Honor Roll, announced today by league commissioner Greg Sankey.
The 2023 SEC Spring Academic Honor Roll is based on grades from the 2022-23 summer, fall and spring terms. Florida placed 322 student-athletes on 2022-23 SEC Fall (113), Winter (72) and Spring Academic Honor Rolls.
Nine from the NCAA champion men's golf team earned spots on the SEC Academic Honor Roll to equal program record set in 2008. Florida men's track & field set its program record with 26 on the 2023 list while the women's team placed 24 on the Academic Honor Roll. The 2023 SEC champion and NCAA runner-up Gator baseball team placed 19 on the honor roll - the second-highest total in program history.
For the third consecutive season, Gators lacrosse raised their all-time record for SEC Academic Honor Roll, with 31 on the 2023 list. Softball's 14 honorees was one away from its record set in 2021. Other sport honoree numbers included women's golf (6), men's tennis (3) and women's tennis (5).
Notes About Gator Honorees:
* Three NCAA individual champions earned a spot on the SEC Academic Honor Roll. Fred Biondi became the first Gator since 2001 to win the NCAA Golf medalist title. Jasmine Moore swept long and triple jump titles in NCAA Indoor action and also won the 2023 NCAA outdoor triple jump. Jacory Patterson ran the second leg on Florida's record-setting NCAA outdoor champion 4x400 relay.
* Three Gators who picked up yearly SEC honors are on the SEC Academic Honor Roll - Talitha Diggs (SEC Indoor Runner of the Year), Jasmine Moore (SEC Indoor & Outdoor Field Athlete of the Year) and Jacory Patterson (SEC Indoor Runner of the Year). Diggs also claimed the SEC Women's Track & Field Scholar-Athlete honor for 2023 and became Florida's first track athlete to be College Sports Communicators Academic All-American of the Year
* The SEC Academic Honor Roll includes the league's softball player of the year, Skylar Wallace. She was named the TUCCI/National Fastpitch Coaches Association Division I Player of the Year
* Jasmine Moore swept the USTFCCCA indoor and outdoor national field athlete of the year plus was named track & field's Honda Award winner
* Florida's two who claimed American Athletic Conference lacrosse player of the year honors earned spots on SEC Academic Honor Roll: Emily Heller (Midfielder of the Year) and Sarah Reznick (Goalkeeper).

Gators Claim Five Medals on Second Night of Phillips 66 National Championships
Dressel, Lazor, Ledecky, Sims and Smith all earn podium spots
INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - Five swimmers with Florida ties claimed five medals on the second night of the Phillips 66 National Championships, as Caeleb Dressel, Annie Lazor, Katie Ledecky, Bella Sims and Kieran Smith all found themselves on the podium Wednesday evening.
Volunteer coach Ledecky and incoming freshman Bella Sims went two-three in the 200m free A-final to open up the night. Ledecky's 1:55.28 was just .02 away from first, while Sims set a personal-best 1:56.08, nearly a second-ahead of her previous best.
In the C-final, Isabel Ivey went 1:59.32 to finish second, while incoming freshmen Michael Mattes (fourth) and Lainy Kruger (eighth) competed in the D-final.
In the men's 200m free, Smith went 1:45.63 for national runner up, dropping .47 seconds off his prelim time. Jake Mitchell, who's headed into his senior season, just missed the podium, finishing fourth at 1:46.25 but still qualified for the 800m free relay team at the World Championships next month.
Assistant Coach Annie Lazor earned a spot on the podium in the women's 200m breast, clocking a 2:25.86 to finish third. Incoming freshman Grace Rainey went 2:34.39 in the D-final for fifth.
Caeleb Dressel earned bronze in the 50m fly, dropping an event-best .44 seconds off his prelim time to swim 23.35, as the seven-time Olympic gold medalist continues to make strides in his comeback.
Clocking a personal-best 23.80 in the 50m fly B-final, Jace Crawford placed second in the group, and tenth overall.
Natalie Hinds racked up a sixth-place finish in the women's 50m fly, dropping a quarter of a second from her prelim time to finish 26.20. Olivia Peoples also dropped a quarter of a second off her prelim time to finish in second of the B-final to tally a personal-best 26.60.
In the women's 200m back, Jo Jo Ramey, who will be on the roster this fall, went 2:10.58 in the A-final to finish eighth among the nation's best.
Incoming freshman Catie Choate went a personal-best 2:10.94, dropping over two seconds from her previous time to finish fourth in the B-final.
Caleb Maldari, who will join the team in the fall, finished sixth in the 200m back B-final, clocking a 1:59.48 during the evening session. Future teammate Amadeusz Knop clocked a 2:02.29 to place fifth in the D-final.

Katie Ledecky reigned supreme during her morning swim, finishing as the top time with a 1:55.49. Incoming freshman Bella Sims joins Ledecky in the A-final after finishing fourth with a time of 1:57.07. Isabel Ivey and Emma Weyant both qualified for the C-final after Ivey clocked a 1:59.33 for 18th with Weyant finishing 20th at 1:59.78.
Lainy Kruger and Michaela Mattes, both freshman during the 2023-24 season, finished 44th and 47th during the morning. Micayla Cronk finished 53rd with a 2:03.68.
Men's 200 Free
Jake Mitchell and Kieran Smith will both represent the Gators in the A-final. Mitchell went 1:45.82 to finish fourth, one slot ahead of Smith's fifth-place finish at 1:46.10.
Women's 200 Breast
Newly-hired assistant coach Annie Lazor posted a 2:26.51 during the morning to finish with the third-best time overall and a spot in the A-Final. Incoming freshman Grace Rainey touched the wall in 2:34.50 for 28th to qualify in the D-Final.
Men's 200 Breast
The lone Gator in the event, Peter Bretzmann finished 28th during his morning swim at 2:16.77 for a spot in the D-Final.
Women's 200 Back
Jo Jo Ramey, an incoming freshman, notched the final spot in the A-final, finishing eighth at 2:09.69. Fellow 2023-24 freshman Catie Choate quailed for the B-Final after clocking a 2:12.33 to tie for 15th. Zoe Dixon finished 34th after swimming a 2:15.74.
Men's 200 Back
Incoming freshman Caleb Maldari notched a 1:57.86, narrowly missing an automatic qualification to the A-final with a ninth-place finish. Amadeusz Knop went 2:03.78 to place 45th and earn a spot in the D-final.
Women's 50 Fly
Natalie Hinds jumped out early to get a 26.45 for an A-final spot, while Olivia Peoples placed 11th at 26.85. Aris Runnels went 27.46 to place 28th.
Men's 50 Fly
Caeleb Dressel qualified for his first A-final of the week, finishing seventh at 23.79 to earn the chance at a title. Jace Crawford (24.06) earned a B-final spot, while incoming freshman Scotty Buff (24.50) will swim in the C-final.
The 2023 Phillips 66 National Championships continue Thursday, with prelims starting at 10 a.m. ET and finals at 7 p.m. ET. The prelims are streamed on the USA Swimming Youtube page while the finals are available on Peacock.
Talitha Diggs named Women’s Track and Field/Cross Country Academic All-American of the Year
Claire Bryant and Talitha Diggs receive First Team Academic All-American Honors
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Florida Gators Track and Field sprinter Talitha Diggs was named the NCAA Division I Women’s Track and Field/Cross Country Academic All-American of the Year by the College Sports Communicators (CSC) on Wednesday afternoon. Both Diggs and jumper Claire Bryant were named to the CSC Academic All-American First Team, the first CSC All-American honors of their careers.
This honor is Diggs’ second academic accolade of the season, previously being named the SEC Women's Outdoor Track & Field Scholar Athlete of the Year. Off the track, Diggs maintains a 3.67 GPA, double majoring in political science and international studies with a concentration in Asia. She previously earned the honors of 2021 and 2022 USTFCCCA All-Academic honoree and 2021 and 2022 SEC Academic Honor Roll member.
On the track, Diggs is an 11-time USTFCCCA All-American and an eight-time All-SEC honoree. Her athletic accomplishments include 2023 SEC Indoor 400m Champion, 2022 World Champion in the 4x400, 2022 USATF Outdoor 400m Champion, 2022 NCAA Indoor and Outdoor 400m Champion, and 2021 SEC Indoor 400m Champion. She also holds 14 spots on UF All-Time Top-10 lists in a variety of events and was the 2023 USTFCCCA Indoor Region Women's Runner of the Year.
Claire Bryant was tabbed to the CSC First Team after earning a 3.58 in Advertising while winning bronze in the long jump (6.68m/21'11") at the SEC Outdoor Championship and finishing fifth in the long jump (6.44m/21'1.5") at the NCAA Outdoor Championship.
Bryant and Diggs were joined by Imani Carothers and Jordan Shapiro on the Academic All-District Team.

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The Southeastern Conference announced the women's basketball home and road assignments for their 2023-24 campaign on Wednesday. The Gators rotation of opponents consist of five singular road games, five home only contests, and three home-and-home series.
The five permanent matchups to be hosted at the Stephen C. O'Connell Center are: Arkansas, Auburn, Missouri, South Carolina, and Texas A&M. The five road contests for the Gators will be against Alabama, Kentucky, LSU, Tennessee, and Vanderbilt. Lastly for the 2023-24 Southeastern Conference play schedule, there will be three rotating opponents where the Florida Gators will face-off both at home and away against Georgia, Ole Miss, and Mississippi State.
For the 15th year, every team within the Southeastern conference will play a 16-game schedule. All schools will host eight contests on their home court, while traveling for the other eight scheduled matchups. The rotation of opponents changes yearly, but this marks the 12th season in which 14 women's basketball teams are set to compete in the conference.

Florida's skipper earns his third-career ABCA Southeast Region Coach of the Year nod.
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – University of Florida Head Baseball Coach Kevin O'Sullivan has been named the NCAA Division I Southeast Region Coach of the Year, as announced by the American Baseball Coaches Association.
The announcement marks the third-career Southeast Region Coach of the Year accolade for O'Sullivan and the first since earning consecutive nods from 2016-17. Florida's skipper was also honored as the 2017 ABCA National Coach of the Year during the Gators' national title run.
The ABCA/ATEC National and Regional Coaches of the Year are selected by members of the ABCA All-America and Coach of the Year committees in all nine divisions: NCAA Divisions I, II and III, NAIA, NJCAA Divisions I, II and III, Pacific Association Division and high school.
This past season, O'Sullivan guided the Orange & Blue to a program-record 54 wins as the team advanced to the NCAA College World Series Finals in Omaha, Neb. The Gators captured their 16th SEC Regular-Season Championship including the sixth in the O'Sullivan era. On the way to earning the 13th College World Series berth in program history and eighth in 16 seasons under O'Sullivan, Florida also secured its 15th NCAA Regional title and won its ninth Super Regional.
A league-leading seven Gators achieved All-SEC honors in 2023 while another four members of the Orange & Blue were named All-Americans. Furthermore, UF set single-season team records in home runs (145), strikeouts (725), strikeouts per nine (10.6) and offensive hit-by-pitches (90).
O'Sullivan concludes the 2023 campaign having coached exactly 1,000 career games at Florida. He owns 681-319 record (.681) across 16 seasons.
Founded in 1945, the American Baseball Coaches Association is the primary professional organization for baseball coaches at the amateur level. Its over 15,000 members represent all 50 states and 40 countries. Since its initial meeting of 27 college baseball coaches in June 1945, Association membership has broadened to include nine divisions: NCAA Division I, II and III, NAIA, NJCAA, Pacific Association Division, High School, Youth and Travel.
UF MBK: Gators to Visit Wake Forest in ACC/SEC Challenge
It will be Florida's first trip to Wake Forest since December 3, 1994
GAINESVILLE, Fla. - Florida men's basketball will visit Wake Forest in the inaugural ACC/SEC Challenge on Wednesday, Nov. 29, at 7:15 p.m. Television network designation will be announced at a later date.
Florida will play an ACC-heavy nonconference slate with a contest vs. Virginia in Charlotte and a home meeting in the annual rivalry series with Florida State also on slated.
The Gators hold an all-time 7-5 record vs. Wake Forest, dating back to 1936. The teams last met on Dec. 20, 2014, a 63-50 Florida win in the Orange Bowl Classic in Sunrise, Fla. UF last visited Wake under Lon Kruger, an 81-70 victory on Dec. 3, 1994.
