Wife is a Hawkeye and from Des Moines. It is a very nice city and has a GREAT restaurant scene. Down town the east village area is a fun area to eat and get drinks. South of the downtown are some nice Italian places. The best restaurant in my opinion if you are looking for a nice meal is east of down town place called The Latin King, it’s Italian and it is very good.
Just wanted to give some of you a heads up that there are quite a few nice places to eat at beyond the normal chain places. Enjoy!

Don't take this the wrong way....but....Iowa?

We all know what Iowa is.

It's nothing but corn.

Also, is it true that like a hundred years ago 100,000 Iowan farmers got together and built a road that spanned the entire state in just one day?

Random, I know, but I was literally told that today.

Isn’t Des Moines on the Mississippi River? Anything on the mighty Mississippi is pretty happening. My only experience in Des Moines was visiting my step grandpa, who was a pretty established businessman there. One day we were driving and a black guy drove by on a mortercycle and he said: I’ve never seen a black man on a motorcycle. He was dumbfounded. It was like aliens landed.

I watched Witness with Harrison Ford as the rogue cop hiding amongst the Amish the other day on Showtime and was amazed at how quickly they raised a barn. Great flick.

Hot chicks from Iowa? Can we see a pic of Ms. Sad? I think I’d rather be on the U.F. campus by Century Tower this week with all the HOT CHICKS ( as you say ) than in Iowa with ALL THE CORN FED HEFFERS ( Nature Boy voice ) Walking around Des Moines.
