is a Walk-On DT from Georgia who works two jobs to pay for his tuition and books.

Regardless of what people might feel about other teams and other players

It's nice when something good happens to one of the "Nobodies" who toil in obscurity on scout teams whose job is to try to make the scholarship players better.

Because of all the injuries UT suffered last season on the DL, Bain actually got to play quite a lot down the stretch during that period when the wheels came flying off and Lyle blew games against TAM, S/C and Vandy that he should have won and then would have played in the SECC.

how do you work two jobs playing football in the SEC

Part time jobs and rarely get to sleep. Works Sundays and until late last year, he never made the travel team so he worked during games out of town. Summers he works 7 days a week full time doing construction labor. That's where he makes the bulk of his money for school. He had one year where he didn't have the money for tuition so he withdrew, worked full time until he had enough to resume.

He wanted to play for UT but wasn't good enough to get an offer out of H/S. But he used his R/S year as a freshman to work in the S& C Program to gain muscle. He does well in the classroom as well.

If you feel the need to mock him for working his ass off just to try to get on the field even when it was for many 1 play . So be it.

I'd rather have guys like him who give everything they got and pay their own way instead of selfish dope smoking pricks who have everything paid for and still try to defraud the University that gave them free tuition, free food, free housing, free books, and a debit card for "Incidentals" they might need.

Our player that blocked Michigan's punt was a walk-on originally that got put on scholarship - unfortunately we didn't score afterwards.

Good for him. The Walk-ons allow the "Stars" to be stars. They get beat up in drills and used as practice dummies. Without them though, teams couldn't really prepare for games with the paltry 85 scholarship limit.

Most never see the field in a real game but they do get to stand on the sidelines during home games and for most, that's all they want.

I don't remember what year it was but remember when Muschamp finally beat UGA and the mo went our way when we ran a fake FG with the FG holder? Very similar situation. The guy worked at Publix during any available hours.

Cool story about the hard worker being the hero last night.

Buddy of mine was a walk on LB at FSU. Worked 2 jobs. Ended up being the GM of the Broncos and is the current Senior Personnel Director for the Rams.
