March 30 - Head coach Jimbo Fisher doesn't seem close to naming a starter, but it's safe to say Maguire is having the best spring of anyone at the position. "I thought he played really well today," Fisher said on Saturday. "Yesterday was, I'm going to say a B+ day. Today was probably an A- day. I thought in the red zone he made some big time throws." His knowledge of the system and mechanics is helping him take control of the position. Safety Nate Andrews said Maguire is the only quarterback the starting defense has gone against in practice."
If Maguire wins the job as a RS JR; and Cosentino is the backup as a RS Freshman; then in 2016, Maquire will be a RS SR and Cosentino a RS Soph, (waiting for his chance to start in 2017). Plus, the two current incoming 2015 freshman QBs (one of whom is playing this Spring as an early enrollee) will be 2nd year players in 2016. (Likely RS freshmen) & obviously, both looking to make a move as the backup in 2016, and compete against Cosentino in 2017 for the start.
So, not counting FSU's current 3rd string QB (an underclassman who I forgot his name); there will at least 4 QBs ahead of Henry when he arrives in 2016; and likely: at least 3 in 2017.
