I just don't see it. He took over a really good USC team and destroyed it. What will he do in dysfunction junction?
Is he an upgrade over Taggart? Of course. A blow up doll would be an upgrade.
He just can't give FSU what they need. Order and discipline. He is actually the exact opposite. He brings chaos.
Therefore, I am in favor of this hire.
Although he is 68, I wonder if FSU is looking

Right now it looks like Campbell and Norvell are the leading 2 candidates?? If so that isn’t exactly that impressive. Neither one of these guys has proven much of anything at a P5 level.
I wonder why he would leave Penn St for USC? I believe he's from Virginia so he's much closer to home, plus I don't see that as a step up move?
I don't know how true it is, but there are rumors of how intrigued he is by the thought of coaching at USC. IMO, he's only a few missing pieces from dominating the Big 10 and it's just as good a job as SC.
Kiffen tried to make Tenn, Trojan East...EPIC fail..........I think he has had his chances...unearned ones at that...
Well it doesn’t look like FSU is getting either Stoops. They were probably the best options possible other than a James Franklin. Right now their choices are limited and nothing that really stands out.
Easier to win NC's at USC or FSU than Penn State. Easier to recruit at those schools.
Hell Franklin interviewed for the FSU job on sunday. Could be leveraging for a raise. I dont understand leaving psu for fsu or usc

The same thing was said when Urbs landed at pOSU. The man was supposed win more titles there than the titles that were earned before he got there.
What makes you winning at USC is easier? If it was, Lane Kiffin would still have a job there.
If winning at FSU was easier, Fisher never would have left and would have won more than one championship.

Fisher is overrated as a coach. A good coach but he’s never going to do anything special at A&M IMO.
Doesn’t matter what I believe. He’s certainly much more proven of a coach than a Campbell or a Norvell for example. Accomplished much more as an assistant coach and a head coach. With that being said Mark isn’t a great coach by any stretch of the imagination.
Campbell is winning at a school that has less resources and tradition than Kentucky. And he actually beats good teams.
Franklin has no problem recruiting at Penn State. It just sucked for Franklin that Justin Fields made one of the dumbest decisions in his life when he de-committed from Penn State to Georgia.
UF got lucky and stole Derek Wingo from Franklin.
It's hard to get kids from Florida and Georgia to State College, PA. If you get it rolling at FSU or USC you will have top 5 classes without trying. There's a reason why no one outside the southeast wins NC's anymore.
What good teams have been in the Big 12 lately except for Oklahoma and occasionally Texas? He’s a good coach but not going to create much buzz. I’ll give you that he’s better than Norvell or some others.
OSU recruited as good as anybody with Meyer - even as good as Bama almost.
