There is a reason why he was never touched by bigger programs in the past. Skeletons in his closet.

Likely not a good look if the team captain comes out and says this.

No one is striking, one of bitches had her cheerleading outfit on and didnt feel special enough so they went on twitter and boo hoo'ed. Team meeting squashed it, sensitive sallys are EVERYWHERE right now.

Everything has been released, Norvell did send a text out to everybody on the team and inviting them to talk. Marv didnt feel special enough. Marv has already posted 3 videos supporting coach norvell since then

Sounds like somebody thought he was still dealing with everybody's buddy Taggart and forgot they were now dealing with a strict authoritarian. And got their backside handed to them and were told to make nice on social media. But all that does is create resentment. FSU is going to look like a solid unit to the outside but will be a mess behind the scenes. Much like the Jaguars with Tommy Coyughlin there.

Who knows. Could be true. I can see this splitting every1 apart ( we have been this way for 5 yrs) or i could see this pulling people together. 18 to 22 yr olds are weird creatures.

From what I'm seeing, the FSU players control the locker room. Starting to look like an NFL locker room. When they don't like what Cornrows has to say, they run to Odell, undermining his authority.
It's only a matter of when Odell steps back in for his 3rd stint as an interim.

We'll see how it shakes out. If I were an FSU fan (god forbid), I'd be concerned. Truth is that when this type of thing happens, people have to leave. Companys, teams, etc. - generally once a situation breaks ranks in an organization the only fix is for people to leave.

With a new coach and some serious internal damage control that may not happen here...plus any players in college are only around for a 1-2 so you could push some out, clean out the locker room, work with leaders, etc. for the next year.

But it generally ain't good.

Not a good start for a first year head coach at a new program.

The FSU team was already split apart. One of Norvell’s things he was going to have to do is fix the culture and bring them back together. Much like Mullen had to do. This may have severely hurt that process.

It will blow over but not a good start.

Maybe it will blow over, but we may not be able to tell if it did or not. Norvell is taking the hard-ass approach. I don't think we will see this sort of thing happen in public again, but simmering resentment that is stamped down will stay on the boil until the explosion.

It may come down to wins and losses. Wins cause good feelings and locker room issues tend to subside. Losses magnify everything. FSU has West Va in Atlanta, Samford in Tally and Boise in Idaho the first three weeks, then a bye. If FSU goes 1-2, that bye week could be interesting.

If this is the case then Norvelle needs to fire Odell. If he isn't allowed to fire Odell then he is only a puppet and probably needs to start working his exit strategy before his inevitable firing.

Winning is everything, sometimes the hardass approach can change things...I generally think that a positive approach works better but we don't know how bad things are there and people have their own style...I would think that how things are getting adjusted now won't be how it will be later...regardless if things are much better.

I remember being at the LSU/UF game 2 years ago in GVille...was in town from Nevada... and seeing us come from behind to win...I thought...we got our coach. It was awesome.

They let you out of the nursing home Goldmom? Your kids would have to be in their 50’s now since you’ve been coming here for 30+ years?
Shime! Likewise! No, my kids are not near 50. 40ish.
Has this site been here 30 years? I mean you would know.

So let me get this straight, these are a group of kids who I seriously doubt could pass high school on their own merits let alone ever get into college, and the one and only thing they are IN college for is the thing they are going to strike and refuse to do simply because "dey mad at da man." Sooooo is there a contract in play here that they signed to be fed all of that free food, given all those free accommodations and then on top of it the free education?

I mean holy crap, if I no longer have to go to work to fulfill my half of the whole "being employed" contract with my employer and still get my paycheck, I mean HELLS YES! And I mean that totally sarcastically too.

Werent Gator players happy when Mullen got there? Wouldnt you be happy to never have the swag Tagg coach you again?
I think typically players take a wait and see approach when they get a new coach. I’m sure the UF players are happy now but not everybody buys in to what the new coach is selling right off the bat. I’m sure they will be happy if they start winning again. Maybe the players loved Taggart?? For example I think the UF players really liked Muschamp. He was just really bad at his job but probably well liked.

Well, I totally get that the players hated losing. But I thought that Taggart was a sweet guy who was popular with the players because he let them do whatever they wanted, and that was the reason FSU wanted a tough guy for the new coach.

They should have given taggart a lifetime contract. That is if they don decide to just shut down their useless “university”
