"If Bigfoot is a primate?" Please tell us the smartest of all the primates. Ask BSC and bradleygator if needed.

You've introduced an anomaly. I'm curious.

Its always been assumed that Bigfoot is a primate. The size is the problem. We are the tallest of all primates at an average of 1.8 meters. Humans are the smartest of the great apes, but if you look at the others, the common chimpanzee, the orangutan and the Gorilla in terms of teeth you're find a marked difference. We have pitiful little fingernails and pitiful little teeth. The reason we can maintain this size and have so little protection against predators is brain capacity. So, in terms of evolution where did an 8-13 foot great ape come from? We know one such ape live alongside humans in China 10 million years ago but it died in the last Ice Age ten thousand years ago.

There is also the problem of new world versus old world monkeys. There are no new world monkeys in North America. All great apes reside in South Asia or Africa. If Bigfoot were to exist in Northwest America/Canada then we would have to have proof that great apes crossed the land bridge. Apes don't do well in cold. Ask Gigantopithicus.

I love the idea of Bigfoot, I do, but there's some big hoops that have to be jumped through if he's a primate.

The smartest animal on Earth is the one that has remained 'Out of the sight' of mankind, at least for the most part, so far.... o_O

Animals that find themselves in the cross-hairs of mankind, generally don't do well.

So far, Bigfoot (under his many different names world-wide) is proving to be the World Champion at 'Hide & Seek.' :p

And what, no comments on the scientific search and research by professionals for a Bigfoot type creature?

If Bigfoot exists, he would have to be Gigantopithicus that crossed the land bridge prior to the Ice Age. Which doesn't explain the Yeti. Yet, Tibetan Monks have in their shrines scalps they claim to be of Yetis. To my knowledge no one has DNA tested these scalps, only measurements and photographs exist. I wonder the effect on that kind of cold and altitude on a large primate.

Ok I'll play devil's advocate: have any fossils from this species been found in North America? Or where in the world have they been found?

Gigantopithecus has been found in Vietnam, China, and Indonesia. Based on carbon dating they co existed with homo erectus man. Most likely that's what those scalps in Tibet are. They were approximately 10 foot tall herbivores in the 1200 pound range that subsisted on the savannas. They were too big and required too much food to keep up with the Ice Age, and died out about 100k years ago.

If you watch that Bigfoot documentary, and it's pretty dry I've seen it before, they are trying to identify a full cast of a body that is complete with footprints and hair samples.

The problem as I see it is they couldn't exist as Yetis in what is now China and Tibet because of the cold, and they had to somehow get cross to Alaska/Canada/ Pacific Northwest before the last ice age.

So none in North America? Then again if your theory is correct, there could be some buried under ice in Alaska or Canada.

My request again: Please tell us the smartest of all the primates. Slow down. Humans tend to overthink when problem solving.
People have already answered your dumb question, along with all the other dumb questions you’ve posed. Please stop before you embarrass yourself further. You have the mentality of one of the lesser primates.

I like how @BSC911 was scared to answer till he saw what others said first LOL

I love it when I see “Ignored Member” after each of my posts. I have fun imagining how pissed off he is.

The other problem with the fossil record, especially in China, is like everything else ground up Gigantopithecus is a folk remedy. So complete skeletons are non existent minus the initial finds. Which would also make recent find differentials problematic.

I answered that previously. Humans. We're also currently the tallest.

Correct. I missed your answer. Why does BSC find this a stupid question? We all know why.

I asked because every Bigfoot report I've ever read describes a primate, even the admitted hoaxes. I certainly could have missed a report which did not clearly describe a primate.

As you probably know, the IQ range is probably widest in humans as we often see clearly demonstrated on these pages.

This is true.

Here, we find people that post pictures of winter snow to try to disprove CC, post doctored videos, think 1+1=2 is a revelation, and doesn’t know what acrophobia means.

Any other tough questions you wish to share?

I'll agree, he's had an itchy trigger finger on a couple of his bans and could have let them go. But that's what happens when you let a regular poster become mod of a team board.

Having said that, I have little sympathy for rival fans that come to a team board and trash that team. Youre kinda asking for the ban hammer.
Agree, that's why I stay in my lane as an interloper. True, there are people on here I wouldn't urinate on if they were ablaze but that's just the blunt reality of political discussion.

No, those pictures are shown to disprove your wild claims that we are currently in the 5 hottest years in the history of the planet, and that the 'world is on fire'.

The latter is a claim popularized, with no evidence, by a teenager. Seems apropos.

Instead of snippets and spread around ignorant BS, you should all try reading a book now and then... o_O

Jeff Meldrum is a scientist, an expert in human locomotor adaptations. In Sasquatch: Legend Meets Science he examines all evidence critically, not to force a conclusion, but to establish a baseline of facts upon which further research can depend. His science is not submerged by opinion and dogmatic assumption.

In this landmark work on a subject too often dismissed as paranormal or disreputable, Jeffrey Meldrum gives us the first book on Sasquatch to be written by a scientist with impeccable academic credentials. He gives an objective look at the facts in a field mined with hoaxes and sensationalism.

Meldrum reports on the work of a team of experts from a wide variety of fields who were assembled to examine the evidence for a large, yet undiscovered, North American primate. He reviews the long history of this mystery--which long predates the "Bigfoot" flap of the late fifties--and explains all the scientific pros and cons in a clear and accessible style, amplified by over 150 illustrations. (I can personally recommend the book, having read it myself recently -- iG)

MD has to love that his freedom thread tuned into a Sasquatch thread - I guess you can make the point they’re related :p

Took a lot longer for someone to bring this up than I thought.
Speaking of MD, anybody out there to help a brother? I know he's a Vol and all(same goes for you Noles, Wildcats, Bama and Dwag fans and can't leave out the Okie fan Nail) but I do enjoy his contributions to this forum, although he rarely posts on the sports forum.
Honestly, the only person that has a beef with MD around here is his good buddy:p Insta.

Anyone that wants the MadDog-dollies opinion can go read the Vols board to get it, it's just a couple of clicks away. :p

And you can still discuss chit with him there too, that is if you haven't been banned there.

Although from what I understand, his wiring was the worst thing to happen to senior citizens homes prior to corona virus.
