12 teams is a great amount. One of the arguments given by Bammer, tOSU, etc, is "if you want to go to the CFB playoff, you gotta come to our school". And they haven't been wrong. But with 12 teams, 20 can make a very valid argument and another 20 can call it a possibility. That plus NIL taking the bag men out of the game, leaves us with the possibility of some variance.

I'm torn, it's clearly a money grab. There will clearly be favoritism towards a certain few teams, don't think the P5 will be around in 2026, but more playoff teams might help some with parity even if there are blowouts. Right now Bama, OSU, Clemson, and Georgia almost have a monopoly on cfb. I'm willing to try anything to shake that up. If there are "home" playoff games, that would be incredible.

I suspect just more blowouts tho, need to find a way to close the gap of teams to create more parity. It use to be 20ish teams that can win, now it's like 4 or 5 and they are so far ahead of 6 thru 10.

I like the expanded CFB, but I think it was more politically motivated than anything.

As money and power are increasingly concentrated at the top, public pressure would have eventually led to even more dramatic changes being forced upon them. Opening things up a little preemptively relieves some of the pressure while mostly maintaining the status quo.

Again you cannot just go by ranking because its biased. Look at this year's starting ranking, Bama at 1 while Georgia kicked their butts but has a ton of players returning? The ranking is hardcore flawed IMHO. If the NFL uses 14 but has 32 teams I don't see why college cannot use at least 20 because there is what over 100 teams? All they need to do is expland it out going into January and February and maybe March. Heck Hockey is the hardest sport out there and they only get two months off.

Interesting, because I went and looked at the previous posts, and in those 4 hours you mention there were 8 different posts by 8 different posters in this thread and none of them were Sad. So not sure what is going on in that cantelope you call a head, but it's clearly nothing resembling a thought process.
