Florida vs TAM

I think the reason Hayes played less today is that Egbunu was playing so well and White doesn't have those 2 on the floor at the same time. Most of the season either Egbunu got in foul trouble or Hayes was just playing better so he got more minutes than he did today.

Hayes is better with the ball in his hands. Egbunu is so good defensively and on the boards that he has to play. Egbunu was disappointing early in the year but he's living up to expectations now. He's probably the best rebounder in the league.

Defensively you can see how this team causes serious problems. Hill Robinson and Chiozza harassing the perimeter and Egbunu in back is pretty serious. Rest of the guys are good athletes and try hard too.

bg, look at them as position groups and combine their stats for a picture of what a fully functioning TEAM looks and plays like.

Hill Pts 242, Rbs 73, Ast 121, TO 73, Stl 48, Blk 4.
Chi Pts 145, Rbs 78, Ast 99, TO 35, Stl 37, Blk 0.
Tot Pts 387, Rbs 151, Ast 220, TO 108, Stl 85, Blk 4
387/25 = 15.5 pts/gm
151/25 = 6.1 rbs/gm
220/25 = 8.8 ast/gm
108/25 = 4.3 TO/gm
85/25 = 3.4 stl/gm
And 6-1 PG Hill has 4 blocks.
That's not bad for a teams PG. So what if UF uses 2 of them to get those numbers.
And by using 2, White get's the advantage of some injury and foul-out protection.

SG/PG Allen
PG/SG Hester

SF Robinson

SG Jalen Hudson xfer (VaTech)

When a coach can best use his entire team, then that TEAM has a chance to go far. When the players totally buy into playing for each other, you can see the kind of results that produces by looking back at the 04's.

That team meeting after the VU debacle got them moving in the right direction imo, and as long as those TEAM attitudes hold, they will continue to do well.
