Damion Daniels has been one of the hot names in Texas football recruiting this spring and has seen his offer list balloon to up over 25 schools. The three-star defensive tackle was a standout player in his spring game at Bishop Dunne last week. Daniels routinely swam his way into the backfield and was a pretty disruptive pass-rusher especially.
Afterwards he discussed his recruitment, which he says still has a ways to go before any significant decisions are made. To see his highlights from the game and hear what's going on with the other schools recruiting him hardest, watch this:
What he said about Baylor:
“At Florida, Coach (Chris) Rumph -- he keeps it real with me,” he said. “He’s just telling me what it is when I go down there.”
“I have a chance to come in and fight for some playing time,” he said. “I want to major in physical education and become a football coach and he said that he could help me with that.”
On a timeline for his commitment:
“Media Day before the season I am looking to drop my Top 15,” he said. “I’m looking to make a final decision in January.”
