Florida / Georgia Out of Conference Schedules

Everyone will have a different opinion on OOC scheduling. Because the formats are so dissimilar, I do not believe that football scheduling will ever be the same as basketball, where an early non-conference loss to a strong team will NOT disqualify you from competing for a NC.

In football, however, IMO, home game attendance, recruiting, & other variables are impacted by the quality (name recognition) of OOC opponents.

After reading this article I was moved to compare OOC opponents for UF & UGA. I stopped at 2027, because you never know what the future will bring. UGA, like UF, has GA Tech, an ACC opponent, as its last regular season game every year.
Ga Tech, IMO, has not been as strong as FSU over the last 30 years, so up till now, IMO & CDM as well, UGA's OOC schedule has not been as strong as UF.

Despite the article above, I don't see a lot of difference in their OOC schedules.

Things may change as we go forward, teams like Miami or Texas may hit our schedule more frequently, giving us two powerfull OOC opponents and two rent-a victums every year. Georgia, the same.

Always hope that Geoff Collins will beef up Ga Tech program to the level of FSU.

If UCF would agree to a 2 for 1 as USF did, I would love to fill in some of our blanks with them.

Breaking News - UF adds home & home series with Colorado in 2028 & 2029.

IMO, Colorado not a Clemson or Ohio State calibur team (today at least) but definitely a step up from most of the OOC oponents we typically play.

Annually, if we add a team of this calibur to our series with FSU (who, unfortunately, won't stay this bad for long) we will ensure our strength of schedule is great enough for us to contend for NC if we take care of business in the SEC.

Realize everyone's take on playing UCF is different; but Central FL a rich recruiting area & UCF fans would sell out The Swamp.
