Florida four-star wide out commit Leonard Manuel continued his roller-coaster like recruiting process by naming a final four of Baylor, Florida, Ole Miss, and Oregon.

WTF does this mean ? Why do we still count him as a UF commit ?

Mullen needs to pull the plug on this Jack Ass & stop wasting time & potential recruiting counters.

As I hear it, he won't qualify academically, so even if he signs a LOI in February, UF won't accept him.

Gators need to de-committ from Manuel & cut him lose.

Let him go to Oregon if he can figure out how to get there !

With our returning WRs - Trevon Grimes, & Jacob Copeland, transfer Jordan Pouncey & TE Kyle Pitts plus recruits Ja'Quavion Fraziars & Xzavier Henderson I trust Dan Mullen & Billy Gonzales to have an efficient passing game.

EDIT
Forgot to mention 2019 Trio of freshmen: Dionte Marks, Trent Whittemore, and Ja'Markis Weston.

Apologies to them !

There is also the possibility of Justin Shorter & other recruits still out there.

At the rate things are going this week, Georgia might have a serious WR need by Friday. He could stand to make some big money and it's impossible to be academically ineligible at Georgia.
Just curious here - is there any thread that you don't relate back to Georgia in some way?

If he is struggling to qualify we see a lot of this lately with those recruits. Get the last bit of attention they can until going to Junior college many times.

Kid appears he doesn't want to come here anymore. That's fine. And in the SEC this week, other than LSU, Georgia is the big news of the week with all of the defections. How can you not put 1 and 1 together and draw a potential conclusion from that?

Unless that is you graduated from UGA and are thus incapable of figuring out 1+1. Math is hard man, I get it.

Pretty much. You get one of these just about every single year. About all they get left at that point is keep saying they are committed to such and such big name school, but the reality is they couldn't /wouldn't put in the time and effort required to get the minimum GPA.

He may as well add Auburn and FSU to his list. He'll definitely qualify there.

He does want to come here. Whether he qualifies or not is the issues
Hell there are hundreds or thousands of kids who want to come play for their favorite team but just aren't physically gifted/qualified or academically talented/driven enough to make it. We generally only hear about that marginal 1% that comes close and struggles for it publicly, but generally fails.

grommit,

Reminds me of WR Arjei Henderson, who didn't qualify at UF & couldn't even qualify for Jacksonville State - a Mississippi Jr College.

I checked on Arjei a month or two ago; he's not on the football roster for Jacksonville State; he has completely dropped off the map !

By now, he has memorized the key phrase -

"Do you want fries with that order ?"

Sadly, Manuel appears to be heading down that same road.

Maybe he will make it into Jr College & resurrect his playing career.

Jacksonville State is a 4 year college in Alabama.

They are a 1 AA(FCS) Ohio Valley conference team.

He comes and makes it in,,,,, or the doesn't.
Gator, or just more gator-bait, and either way, no worries mates...

Besides the 7 returning on the roster, these guys will fill any gaps.

WR Jaquavion Fraziars 6-4 194 **** - EE signed

WR Xzavier Henderson 6-4 185 **** - Hard commit, NSD
(not an EE because he's still playing baseball for his HS)

Ath/WR Marc Britt 6-2 190 **** - Hard commit, NSD

WR Jordan Pouncey 6-2 205 *** - Tx grad xfer -- (likely gets his waiver to play)

And now you can include the excellent receivers among the RB's and TE's.... o_O

If we only had the 7 returning, along with Fraziars and the RB's and TE's, we'd still be good to go IMO. Anyone else is just icing on the cake.

Tenessee,

FWIW, Jacksonville State Gamecocks, in Alabama, is the College I looked up when looking for ArJay Henderson, the link I provided goes to the roster for their football team; ArJay not listed.

Evidently, I screwed up & said Mississippi instead of Alabama - my bad !

I know this kid has tons of talent, but highly doubt he'll be academically eligible anywhere. Plus I'm not sure his prima donna attitude would be a benefit to any locker room. UF has enough excellent WR's and don't need the baggage this guy would bring. At least that's my humble opinion.

That's the concern - him shopping around at this point is best for both him and UF imo.

That's one thing Mullen will not put up with...if your selfish you won't fit in at UF. Mullen is breading a program that just wants to win and plays for each other. It's one of the biggest things I've noticed with UF since Mullen got here...competition and a real team mentality. No player is bigger or better than the team...you hear it when you watch the interviews and pressers...it's not just coach speak or 'team talk' or whatever you want to call it.

It's freaking awesome and I would think that it starts with Savage and the rest of the coaches. The players have really bought into the program. The days look bright ahead for us. Crazy turnaround my Mullen and on one of the biggest stages in the country.

That's exactly what I've always pushed for as a long time Gator fan. :)
And that goes for every Gator TEAM, not just for football.
That the root of the 'TRUE Gator Standard.' o_O
