Enjoying my time in Nashville at the SEC tournament. A favorite topic among SEC fans has been why Florida’s success (and “respect”) has been discounted. Seems like “you are what your record says you are” doesn’t apply, as so many talking heads and fan bases are trying to figure out Florida.

One guy brought up football as a point of argument, while we were talking basketball. (?) But that got me thinking. Does our football success have an impact on how the rest of the world sees us in basketball?

Maybe that’s a great thing. We don’t do well when we are overwhelmingly favored, on any sport. Bides well for this year. But future years, does one sport affect the reputation of other sports?

Thoughts?
