Florida at Babalama

Had a much bigger lead with about 5 minutes to go and relaxed, then Bama got hot and hit a couple of freak shots. Egbunu just not playing well and on the bench again with foul trouble and very little production. Bama was terrible at the free throw line and we missed quite a few ourselves. Hill & Chiozza playing well, Allen hasn't done much. Looks like Bama is trying to take him out of the game and hope our other guys can't beat them. Alabama has some momentum at halftime, and it's always tough to win on the road in the SEC anytime in any sport. Hopefully the Gators can pull another one out.

Our big guys are scared to death to block out. Bama has 9 offensive rebounds. We have two.

We don't get our heads out of our ass, we are going to lose this game

Egbunu, Robinson, Hayes and Leon are having terrible games. Egbunu has really digressed as the season as gone along. He just relies on his bulk and doesn't work very hard on either end of the court. The strategy of face guarding Allen is working and the team doesn't seem to know what to do. We had an 18 point lead late in the first half and now are getting beaten in every phase of the game. Maybe we can come back and win, but they are just not playing smart and as a team.

Losing to a team that scores 40 points against everyone else, of course they are getting every call and in the bonus while hitting everything for one game only.

You lose to this team it's as embarrassing at it can possibly get

lmao at the last shot that just went in, when does it ever end for our opponents

are we seriously playing UK right now? They are getting to the line for inbounding the ball every single possession

and still losing

Defense was tremendous down the stretch. Points off turnovers was the difference in the game. To win on the road when you don't play very well is quite an accomplishment. Keith Stone came up big tonight, as did Kasey Hill.

Agreed. We played terrible for a period there, but kept our composure and won the game

This year, White seems to have mostly solved how to close out close games against inferior opponents. Thus far anyway. Good for him. Now we need to beat some NCAA teams. Several games against decent to great teams coming up.

The clemson fans and dabo lost to spurrier so much they booed him like a heel in his own state with the Bama fans

Very pleased with this team. They definitely have a great shot at getting to the 2nd weekend of the tourney.

White gets this team to close out games somehow better than Billy

now 32-1 when leading with 5 minutes left.

The way White has these guys defending is impressive. They are long and quick and do get beat up on the boards at times, but they absolutely destroyed Alabama on the perimeter. With Leon and Robinson and Scourge of Humanity Kasey Hill harassing their guards up top, they were throwing the ball all over the place.

Stone is really coming on. He looks like he can really shoot. And he can handle the ball and make some plays. Biggest possession of the game they just threw it down to him in the post, he finds Barry in the corner with a great skip pass, three good, game over. Nobody has thrown that pass out of the post in two years.

A friend of mine wrote;

With 2 mins left And Hill holding the ball running time, I thought we were in for 100 seconds of Hill flailing. Then he drove and dished, then there was a pass and now another a bucket with ~4 secs on the shot clock.

I almost couldn't believe my eyes.

We have completely fallen apart and the officials are being very one sided.

So, which player(s) carried the team with scoring vs Alabama?

PF Keith Stone rsFr 14 Pts, PoG.. He shot 67% FG's and 3/3 on 3Pt shots.

PG Kasey Hill Sr 13 Pts, FT 5/6, 5 Rb, 4 Ast, 3 TO, while playing 35 Min.

SF Canyon Barry Sr 13 Pts, FG 67%, 2/3 3Pt, 3/3 FT

Those 3 players scored half (40) of the Gator's points for the game (80).

Team Shooting: FG 47.2%, 3Pt 35.3%, FT 75%

We have enough guys to make up for when others don't have a great night on offense, we have enough contributors to chip in. I barely noticed chiozza at all last night and Egbunu seems like he hasn't even been on the floor in two games until two dunks at the end in the games. Robinson didn't seem like he scored much last night either and has some turnovers and fouls.. We haven't played well in long spurts the last three games and have still scored in the 80s. That's pretty good and illustrates what im saying, other guys are capable of picking up the slack on offense.

Hey guys, guess who we play after our ONLY short turnaround in conference play?

Jesus christ someone pull the rug from bama and UK's antics in this conference for their one sport teams.

They're listing the attendance at 12,923!!! that's the quietest 12K plus I've ever seen!

im sure if i looked up more teams they would have them too, or UK's they would be playing lsu at home after it for a night game lol

From the players themselves: (and that I've pointed out since the beginning).

“We’re not a one-person dominant team,” Florida Sr PG Kasey Hill said. “Everyone can step up, offensively and defensively.”

“If one guy falls down, there’s going to be another person right there to pick them up or come in and take his spot at all times,”
rsFr PF Keith Stone said.

Stone was that person Tuesday night @ Alabama, with a team leading 14 pts, going 4/6 FG's, and 3/3 3Pt, and with a nice assist to Barry for an open 3 pointer at the final 1:29 mark.

They might really have something in Stone. He's got a real nice looking shot, and he can handle the ball well enough that White called a play to isolate him on the block on one of the biggest possessions of the game.

He and Barry look like they might be legitimate shooters, which I thought would be this team's biggest weakness. The team is really developing nicely.

Whenever the Gator's make it to the Dance, it's been a good season.

Whenever the Gator's make it to the Sweet 16, I'm a happy camper.

Whenever the Gator's make it to a Final Four, I'm very proud to be a Gator fan.

And a NC is always going to be a 'dream come true' for me....

Wouldn't trade Billy's 3 straight elite 8 teams for anything. Wouldn't trade the Pat Young/Wilbekin/Prather final 4 team for a Duke or UK championship led by one and done players.
