The Big Ten has amended their rule and has cleared the way for Ohio State to play Northwestern in the Big Ten Championship Game.

Ohio State will play Northwestern in the Big Ten Championship Game on Dec. 19 after the conference changed their rule that previously mandated a six-game minimum eligibility requirement for the game.

Not only is this the right move from an on-field standpoint to get Ohio State in the Big Ten Championship Game because they are clearly the best team, but it is also sound financial sense as well.

Should Ohio State make the College Football Playoff, and they will if they beat Northwestern, the Big Ten schools stand to receive millions in return for the success of the Buckeyes. Denying the best team in the conference a chance at the playoff would have literally been burning millions upon millions. In this economy, that would have been an illogical move.

Or A&M. Oh St has no right to play for anything with that joke of a schedule. They should blame their own commish and President if they don’t like it.

SEC should have given Alabama and Florida a bye this week. They are playing meaningless games.

At this point it's really pointless to use regular guidelines to pick the 4 best teams. There are far more important things than entertainment at play here. If/when the "Playoffs" can be played, I want to know everybody is following the rules and we get the four best teams. Ohio State is one of those four in most people's eyes. Texas A&M got rolled by Bama. We lost to them.

Who is number 4 then? Cincy, Coastal Carolina, Iowa State? I think most of us know/think they aren't. We get our chance in two weeks to show if we have improved enough to have a claim.

It oughta be 8, and yes I know that means UF is likely in, but jt still should be 8.

Let’s just quit keeping score at all then. We’ll have teams play and hold a poll as to which team looked like it was the better team.

I didn't say OSU should get in, But TAMU has one loss and Cincy is undefeated. There are other candidates.

Cincy is poo and has played nobody. A and M has a strong case over Oh st as well. However, i dont view conf championship games as losses when the other team didnt play

Cincy has always been the goo that sticks to the shoe in a cow pasture. In 2009, they somehow snuck into a prime bowl game. Tebow and Company blasted them into orbit. Cincy is FAKE NEWS every year.
