It'll be another Zook/Muschamp era.
They can sucker somebody else for some $ next year,
I'll watch at the house.

I know I'm going to get blasted for "sunshine pumping" and "apologizing" but Zook had Rex and Chris Leak.
We haven't had a quarterback worth any of thing near that.
Lol, 0-1Mac is going to be in serious trouble if he doesn't come out of the gate with a win over Michigan who loses more starters than we do. It will set the stage for the fan base turning on him big time.

We haven't recruited one worth a damn since Meyer left.
This is so untrue, it isn't even funny. We have killed it with quarterback recruiting. Let's provide a list of QBs who haven't panned out since Tim tebow walked out those doors:
John Brantley
Jeff Driskel
Treon Harris
Tyler Murphy
Jacoby Brissett
Trey Burton
Skyler Morningweig
Appleby
Will Grier
Del Rio
I'm probably forgetting a few
That's four or five 5 star recruits right there. We HAVE recruited qb's worth a damn. How is it that:
1. Our quarterbacks have had success transferring schools but can't find success at Florida?
2. Some of these quarterbacks weren't good enough at Florida but are good enough to be on NFL rosters?
Something is very wrong here with our quarterbacks here at Florida. These quarterbacks not panning out are continuing to cost our coaches their jobs. Now supposedly Felipe Franks can't grasp a play book or has intelligence issues? You've got to be f-cking kidding me.
We sold our soul for those two national championships. These quarterbacks we have here either: fold under immense pressure, or are overrated or something. However, I don't think all these offensive coordinators are horrible and nor do I think these people who get paid hundreds of thousands of dollars to recruit kids, can't properly evaluate quarterback talent (which is the most fundamentally basic position to recruit).
There's something wrong here. Either it's how our program is structured or pressure from fans/media, or what. But until we get this quarterback epidemic straightend out, I don't think even nick Saban could succeed here.
Saban's offenses don't excite anybody, but he out-recruits everybody and then beats them senseless with his depth. He doesn't need a cutting-edge offense because he knows he can control the game with his overall talent.
Until the rest of us can figure out how to bring in as much talent as they have on the Alabama campus, I'm afraid we'll be looking up at these guys.
Have you seen bama play offense this year? He hired kiffin got a dual threat QB and ditched everything he used to do when muschamp and mcelwain and nussmeir coached for him. Even nick knows that outdated crap doesn't work any more.
By everything he used to do, do you mean have a giant powerful RB and the best offensive line? Because if so, I'd look again at what they're doing.
Any team that hires Kiffin again as a HC is asking for more failure, look no further than the last OC's for Saban. They win by having the easiest job other than the QB position for his teams and then get hired elsewhere and completely fall on their face. Look no further than the last 3 alone, Kiffin has done nothing but lose everywhere he's been as a HC, Nuss and Mcelwain won 3 rings combined with him and are setting the game back at a big program decades. Calling the plays
ith the most talented team in college at your disposal on OL, huge NFL backs and WR's... then the best defense with all the depth in the world that gives up nothing, how many guys that leave sabans side even become halfway decent? UGA made sure they ran off a guy that won 10 games a year for Smart and he's started off by losing to Vandy, GT and Florida his first season and recruiting has never been the problem for them. Until someone succeeds there's no reason to believe in ANY of them after they leave Alabama... and I forgot to even include one of the worst ones of all, Muschamp. The list just keeps getting bigger
Yes sir! We need more of this kind of thinking. This idea of firing a coach every 2 -3 years will never work out, it just lengthens the rebuilding process. Coach needs 5 years before one can truly judge him. Our fan base on these sites sound like a bunch of whinny 10yr olds. Go Gators!!!Considering what MacElwain inherited and the ungodly amount of injuries to this year's team, his accomplishments are pretty good. I've been a Gator since 1964 and we ALL want to get back to the glory years of Spurrier and Meyer. But it's going to come down to recruiting players who can compete for 4 quarters with Alabama and right now we're a long way away. If he doesn't get numerous 4 and 5 star O & D linemen & linebackers in this year's class, and next year's class, plus find a QB who can do the job, we're merely going to continue just competing with UT & UGA for SEC east titles, nothing more. With a new AD and the fact that he's gotten to Atlanta his first 2 years, I would say he's got 2-3 years minimum to get the program back in the Top 10. I'm pulling for him because I don't want to go through another 3-4 year rebuilding process with another new coach.

Because we've had 2 sabanites for coaches who think it's 1977
All due respect, Uga fans thinking was aligned with yours and look how many losses they have this year compared to last year. (A lot of their weapons were still there this year.) Things change, in the 90's and early 2000's when I would get pissed off over a loss, my dad would tell me be glad that you were to young to remember Gator football before the 90's! I was raised up during the best 20 years of football Florida has ever had.Or maybe we used to be a fan base that demanded excellence, that expected to compete every, we used to get pissed over one or two losses. But now we smile and accept multiple embarrassing losses, and no signs of improvement. Guess this thinking shows how far we have fallen, and makes me wonder if we can ever get back.

I am a passionate Gator fan that hates losing and probably lose years off my life when we do. I have thrown remotes at walls and tv's, stupid I know! However, 0% of this negativity on here and 95.3/98.1 ESPN Gainesville is gonna persuade Scott Stricklin to remove MAC. It just makes us as a fan base look ignorant!
Who would you guys that want MAC fired like as our coach? lsu has Ed O as their coach due to NO candidates worth a flip. We are not getting Chip Kelly or John Gruden so please use some educated rational when you blast me with all these great hires waiting to come to FLORIDA!

I will concede the fact that some of those QBs were highly rated coming from HS. But we haven't had a scheme in place that took advantage of their talents. We don't develop them at all and they all transfer before their time is up. It's been a revolving door of inept offensive coordinators and a couple of Saban disciples as HC who don't understand how to play offense in the modern era
I went on a little rant last night, I'll tl;dr it for you guys and I don't even think I got to my point:
Muschsmp had NFL caliber qbs but didn't know how to use one to save his soul.
Mcelwain hasn't had a qb, except will Grier. And if fillepe franks truly doesn't get it, mcelwain will be gone too.
It's been tough to watch us for the past 6 seasons,
Yep, remember Tebow covered in that ugly garnet after putting up 50, I think it was on youIn all types of weather...
Well if there is a hidden gem, no doubt Mac found him because he can't sign the ones that are not hidden.Franks does have me nervous. If this year of watching and learning doesn't get him right in the head we are in big trouble unless Trask really is a hidden gem.
