That 6 week lull from the end of the CWS to now was boring. Glad fall sports have cranked it up again. I watched some of the Washington soccer match on SEC+ and it looks like they're going to be another Becky Burleigh special. Solid defense and excellent ball possession. Just need to be more aggressive in creating scoring opportunities. Really looking forward to the volleyball season. They lost several excellent players, but replaced them with new excellent players. Mary Wise just keeps on winning.

Let me know when they sell enough tickets to cover the cost of their tuition. Hell when they sell enough to pay the lawnmower man for cutting the grass on the field. Get off the public tit, ladies! Stop besmirching the NCAA's free market economy!

Many of us Do care about the athletes and coaches that aren't so-called "revenue-producing". Don't know why some like you have to take shots at these student-athletes who work as hard as those in sports you like and try to diminish their contributions to the University of Florida. We have a great university in all respects and certainly THE most consistently successful of all athletics departments in the entire country and I, for one, am proud of them all and enjoy following and watching them all.

My daughter plays on Schollie for UT Chatt - as a soccer player - They dont get the same type of 'full rides' as the boys - and since my TAX dollars are paying for these schools, you damn right Im all for Title IX

The Lady Gator’s what?

Late summer news about a spring sport. I read today that Keenan Bell & Shane Shifflet have transferred out of the UF baseball program. Best wishes to them both.

INF/OF Shane Shifflett and OF/1B Keenan Bell are both still listed on the 'official' roster. However, in the off season, they can be pretty slow with their updates.

Link?

I saw this on another message board:

I didn't know Shifflett was going too, but we all knew Bell had already left. Shifflett seemed decent when he subbed in for Reese.

Bell to Tampa College
Shifflett to State College of Florida

TRANSFER NEWS: @GatorsBB veteran first baseman Keenan Bell has transferred to DII @UT_Baseball, while utility guy Shane Shifflett is headed to State College of Florida. Bell’s departure is curious to say the least, but he wants more at bats. #Gators

Gator soccer team hosts Ohio State tonight at 7 pm on SEC+. The #7 Volleyball team starts off with a brutal schedule starting tonight at #2 Nebraska at 7 pm on the Big Ten Network and then they play #3 Texas in Lincoln, Nebraska at 4:30 pm on Saturday. Not sure if that match will be televised.

Of UF's 31 slated regular season Men's B-Ball games, 15 are against teams that were in last years Dance.

Last year, 6th Seed UF lost to 3-seed TxTech. Hard to imagine, but the coming SoS is even tougher than last years. In Mike White's 3rd season, he won more than 20 games for the 3rd consecutive time, going 21-13 before losing in the Round of 32.

The coming season might be the most challenging SoS in UF B-Ball history, so buckle your seat belts...

Pre-season practice begins on Sept. 28th, and I can't wait to see the both the old guys, but especially the 3 newbees. Their season schedule begins early on Nov 6th @ FSUcks.

The 2018-19 Schedule with a Chris Harry break-down on the opponents can be found here:

7 pm... Night game. Lights powered by taxpayer dollars with no hope for recapture. Donald Trump would be horrified.

In her first weekend of collegiate play, she turned in a goal and three assists.
That performance earns Florida's Cassidy Lindley the first SEC Freshman Soccer Player of the Week honor.

Tonight's soccer match - UF 0 - 1 tOSU -- they scored in the final minutes to win. :(

PS

Here's a movie that the bradley-dud definitely needs to see.

Death of a Nation (2018) Movie - movieinsider.com
www.movieinsider.com/m16477/death-of-a-nation
Death of a Nation in US theaters August 3, 2018. Not since 1860 have the Democrats so fanatically refused to accept the result of a free election. That year, their target was Republican President Lincoln.

"You want the Truth? -- You can't handle the Truth!"

I just watched the #7 Gator Volleyball team beat #2 Nebraska in front of a packed and raucous Lincoln, NE crowd 3-1. Exciting, close match with the set scores being 25-22, 25-20, 23-25 & 25-23. Freshman Thayer Hall, last year's national high school player of the year was awesome in her college debut. Great win in a hostile environment. UF has to turn around and play #3 Texas tomorrow afternoon.
I watched the soccer match on my computer and was very disappointed in the lack of offense. The last several years the Gator soccer team has had great defense and they possess the ball really well, but have trouble scoring against good defenses. Ohio State is not that good and our girls just looked out of sync on offense the whole match.

Gator volleyball lost a 5 set thriller to #3 Texas in Lincoln, NE this evening. They were up 2 sets to 1 and had a 3 point lead midway through the 4th set. Then their offense fell apart and they made several service errors to send the match to the 15 point 5th set decider. Same things happened. Gators had a 4 point lead midway, then just collapsed and lost. However, to get a split against the #2 & 3 teams in the nation, on the road was a great way to test this young team and see what they need to work on for the rest of the year. Have a big match in Gainesville on Friday against #10 Southern Cal and then the schedule eases up until they start SEC play on 9/21. The only real challenge after USC should be FSU on 9/12 in Tallahassee.

Gator soccer team dropped to 2-2 on the season with a 1-0 loss to Oklahoma St. This could be a down year for Becky Burleigh's squad, as they are more offensively challenged than usual. Shut out in back to back losses against unranked teams is not good. Season is still early and they do play solid defense, but they don't seem to know how to create scoring opportunities for themselves and don't seem to have that one player who's a constant, aggressive scoring threat.

Yep, a tough weekend for the ladies for sure.
However, the Volleyball team knocking off #2 Neb in their house was still pretty sweet. ;)

Really wanted my kid to go to UF
Glad she took the Offer from UT CHattanooga, she's already posted 2 shut outs

UF's volleyball team lost to #7 Southern Cal at home tonight 3-1, dropping their record to 1-2. They started the season playing #2, #3 & #7. Tonight the superstar freshman and sophomore transfer Holly Carlton were excellent, but several of their veterans had really bad matches and USC pretty much dominated them

The #22 Gator soccer team played to a 0-0 tie with #2 UCLA tonight, to make their record 2-2-1. The Gators have not scored a goal in 3 straight games. They played excellent defense tonight and their goalkeeper made some great plays. But the offense was, once again, inept.

They both set MONSTER schedules, and so far, the monsters are eating their lunch. o_O

Tough nuggies ladies,,,, -- all you can do in a slump, is keep on keeping on.

Gator Volleyball takes out UCF 3-1 on Sunday. :D
Yep and the Gators beat Louisville 3-1 yesterday. UCF upset Southern Cal 3-1 yesterday.
The soccer team is in a 0-0 tie with #7 Southern Cal at halftime. Our ladies haven't scored a single goal now in 3 1/2 matches. Hard to believe.

Yep, those O-fers are just freakin' me out. Never seen the soccer team like this???

Becky will figure it out eventually, but I'm hoping for sooner, rather than later...

Gator soccer loses to USC 3-0. 4 straight games without a score for UF. Pathetic.
