Emory to the Portal

So you punish all the other players who played all year and literally take any chance of winning away from them? Emory played for the Gators this season and the bowl game is part of this season.
Agree. We win 6 games to become bowl eligible. Emory was part of all of those wins. He deserves this as much as any of them.

To me it's no different when an assistant takes another job but stays to coach the bowl game. Head coaches moving to other HC jobs sometimes stick around to coach their team in a bowl game as well.

Let Emory play. He earned the right.

fans have a tendency to forget we are dealing with 18-20 year old kids

just like those saying lets refuse the bowl game and move on

fans sometimes lose sight of whats going on. These kids earned this

Emory and Napier talked and him leaving is best for all. Zero reason he shouldn’t “finish this season”. Someone said don’t let the quitter play, I say if he didn’t want to olay that is what would make him a quitter

It’s kinda like buying your girlfriend dinner AFTER she says she wants to f somebody else…

but you are only including YOU

This TEAM earned this bowl game and deserve to do it as a team

Emory isn’t leaving and flipping us the bird, he and Billy agreed its best to part ways.

have to understand their are two Gators teams right now. The former coaches and players finishing the season and Bilky working on next year. In essennce the 2021 Gators and /
2022 Gators are separate right nwo

Joke.

I don't really care that much if he plays but I guess the best thing would be one of the 2022 QBs getting the starter snaps in practice.

The line moved from -6.5 to -3.5

I see UF losing outright.

It fits perfectly for a bowl game disaster.

Skip dinner...you get one last F in and get every use out of it you can. Even try to make her walk funny. Make her the next dudes damaged goods.

On the real subject though. You said you admired Mullen because he coached that BCS game vs Oklahoma AFTER accepting the MSU job. Same sceniro isn't it? Mullen wanted a UF paid dinner before going to jump in the bed with MSU????

I'm fine with him getting most of the snaps. I just hope he's 100% motivated to end with a bang.

We might be looking at another Cotton Bowl type game.
The Cotton bowl was against somebody good. This smells like, well, most of the second half of this season, TBH.

Remember when I said it would be better to skip the bowl game? Everybody still think that was a terrible idea?

Would assume he is motivated as he wants a decent offer out of the portal.

That is unless he knows where he is headed already.
Playing against a motivated opponent, behind an offensive line that (probably) considers you a traitor and so has little motivation to protect you, may not be the smartest idea.

Yes. these kids earned this and regardless of system, 15 practices is a lot of reps.

If we didn’t want a bowl perhaps we should have benched everyone and let F$U have the 15 practices and exposure from an extra game?

Earned. Hmm.

Interesting that we assume that, after such a stressful, unpleasant season, the players wanted to keep doing this for another month, rather than go home for Christmas break. And the coaches, you think they are focused on this game, or do you think maybe they are busy networking trying to find a job next year?

As for the 15 practices, what are they practicing? Not the scheme they will be using next year. No way to move forward, just spinning their wheels.

After UCF curbstomps us and claims to be state champ, will you still think all that "extra exposure" was a good idea?

You kill me Michi. There is NOTHING GOOD OR POSITIVE from playing this game. All that can happen is things get worse.

Worse for who?

The kids get a week of entertainment and $x worth of gifts. Not to mention all support staff gets that as well. You know anybody who has ever been on a staff? Because I assure you this is a reward for many, even those who aren’t handsomely compensated. Is the university compensated?

Billy doesn’t seem to be having any trouble with our “image” right now.

I have yet to hear a player complain about doing this. But yeah, fans have no problem passing on it, kinda odd?

But by all means, it is your right to want the team and university to pass on this because you might get an unfriendly outcome!

But there is literally no negative to come from this. Other than the continued erosion of college football because we had to have a “playoff”

sadgator sees both sides of it.

Potential negatives:

A losing record.

Embarrassing ourselves on national television.

Giving UCF a chance to get scoreboard on us. They will never, ever let us forget it if it happens.

You do realize BIlly isn't coaching this, right? So he isn't going to get any kind of evaluation on the kids, and the practices are going to be schemes they won't be using next year.

What would our positives be?

Instead of getting to go home for Christmas break, they get a game Dec 23 at 7pm. Some of them may get home on Christmas, those from outside the state probably won't. Is it worth it to miss Christmas to go to a lousy bowl game nobody cares about? Maybe this should be in the negatives.

We could win, and go 7-6, and call ourselves state champs, which we would have done anyway with no bowl game. Whoop de doo.

We could beat UCF, which everyone expects us to do, and then the game will be immediately forgotten.

Seems to me the potential negatives FAR outweigh the potential positives. But that's just me, using logic and reason.

Would you take him at any decent P5 school? Less than 50% completions? Guys are ALL 60% and up and we got that mess? He cost himself a shot at a good school tonight but, as I said earlier, he’s the guy who threw 3 interceptions IN A HALF vs. FSU.

that was brutal to watch - Emory is a great representative for the university, good kid etc. but man it's time for him to move on. And Delance should leave as well lol...

Delance - 1st play was awesome haha

Probably needs a G5 or FCS that wants a QB to run more than pass
