Don Cherry fired over immigration backlash

What in the hell are you two blubbering about? My only point is that Cherry, and the two of you, have zero, zero support for the assertion that immigrants care less about veterans. Do I want a survey? Sure. Or a poll, or a first hand conversation or some objective fact that makes the assertion more likely to be true. Among smart people, we call this “reasoning.”

“Some do and some don’t” Is this statement equally applicable to everyone? Or just immigrants. Do either of you care about veterans? As evidenced by what?

This has nothing to do with a supposed lack of evidence of sexism against our current president (although a tape of him saying that he likes to grab strange women “by the pussy” seems to me to be somewhat probative).

Cherry’s comments are a blanket assertion with zero support. That’s my point.
What did he say that warranted his firing? Don't quote Clint Eastwood, tell me what he said that was so wrong. People make blanket statements all the time.

Vin Jones of CNN said Trump's victory in 2016 was a whitelash, because of Obama winning two terms.. Clinton isn't black Vin.. Don't give me this hogwash of him insulting inmigrants. He didn't say anything except they don't know or respect the sacrifices made by dead Canadien soldiers. Which is not all immigrants, but a large group that fail to adapt to the customs of the country.

Turn in your Liberal card for a moment, I will turn in my independent card, and tell me what he said that should of got him canned.. Listening can be instructive..... So here I am listening, not attacking your view.. Then tell me honestly if you would feel the same if the shoe were on the other foot.

What are you talking about? What is this based on? Oh your and Don Cherry’s own wild ass speculation? Carry on then.
There is definitely a huge difference between the immigrants of the last century and this one.

Based on:
La Razza and large Muslim communities that want to institute Sharia law. Neither of these "communities" give a shit about the country that welcomed them in from from their old, shitty countries.

I’m sure MLK would have liked to have lived to today so he could stand in support of crazy old Don Cherry’s unsubstantiated slander of immigrants.

Again I ask what he said that was so terrible, and inaccurate.. You can't blast a blanket statement with a blanket statement. Stand for all, or sit down and shut up. Most people don't live by this. That's why I don't support calls for termination for speech.

MLK wouldn't give this a second look, because he stood for real, tangible injustices.

If it were a person leaning left saying that Naturalized Americans were in the wrong for not buying flags to support Illegal immigrants on "Freedom Day", and then getting fired from FS1, I can guarantee there would be protests from the very same people who justify this man's firing.
That's NOT what Cherry said, and you ignore his history. His firing was NOT a political decision, it was a business one. His employer had simply had enough of his sthick.. Why have you and others politicized this?

I wish there was no political divide in this country. I wish I still believed in this holding hands around the campfire, there being no large gaps in financial class systems. However the Liberal in me died out at 19, after seeing the hypocrisy in this world. The true nature of these "peace loving", "accepting" people. Like Santa Clause, I wish I was still innocent enough to believe in fairness and equality. There are too many wolves out there, too many parasites taking out the sheep.
I feel sorry for you, then. How bleak and joyless life must be for you.

What "Facts" support all the claims of racism, sexism, or facism pointed at a certain President in office today? Where are the facts needed to impeach his orange butt? Strawman argument here.
Wow!!! Immigrants who don't wear poppies are unpatriotic, yet you apparently support a president who is the least patriotic man in Washington. SMH.

What blanket statement did I make? I said his blanket statement was completely unsupported. You’ve responded half a dozen times, ranting about liberals, Trump, MLK, etc... but have yet to point me to any objective fact, backing up Cherry’s assertion that immigrants are more unsupportive of Veterans than the general public. It is pointless to converse further on this, because you apparently are unable to distinguish between opinion and fact and frankly seem to have a limited grasp of the meaning of the words that you speak.

It's all opinion, only the ignorant claim otherwise. It is quite pointless to engage in debates regarding topics where too much emotion is invested. Choosing to listen is an important first step, but that's not what is happening here. I watched a debate between JFK, and Nixon back in the day, then watched the Trump, and Clinton one. Our society has taken several steps backwards when it comes to intelligent discussion. We are all guilty of this, everybody talks, nobody listens. They just anticipate their counterpoint.

In a nutshell regarding this topic.. I don't think Cherry was smart in speaking about this, no point. However he certainly didn't engage in hate speech, nothing warranting firing him. He was probably skating on thin ice to begin with, thus this was a nice way of ushering him off stage.

PC culture is creating such phony niceness, people are far more vile to each other today.

How is he unpatriotic? Please enlighten me on patriotism... Since you are an expert on the topic.

Plus its nice how you assume things in my belief system. I never said immigrants or anybody that didn't wear poppies was unpatriotic. I said the man wasn't saying anything untrue about many immigrants not respecting the lives lost to give them their fredom. It's unfortunate how many naturalized Americans act the same way.

Wow!!! Unpatriotic? The one that coined MAGA and hugs the flag? You live in a liberal bubble man and again millions of you will wonder why TRUMP gets re-elected in 20'...clueless

This thread has already made 2 pages on a Gator sports board. It will probably reach the status of the Alien thread at this rate.

At least its about Poppies and Cherries.

I have chosen to ignore all political talk shows this year. It has made me a happier person, I know I started this thread, but it was more out of my disgust for PC culture, and the fakeness it has created in our culture. Therefore I will only say that I think it was a b.s move to can the old guy, but it's their right. I will not engage in anymore Liberal vs Conservative talk, it is pointless, and bad for my soul.

I support our troops, I love this country, love the constitution, and will support any president that follows it. This is the best country in the whole world. I thank all those that have served.

Are some immigrants “unpatriotic”?? Possibly. Are some native born citizens “unpatriotic”?? Possibly. How do you know which group is more or less patriotic?? You use the term “many” in regards to immigrants—what’s that based on?? Interestingly enough, trump makes inaccurate claims that immigrants are responsible for more crime than native born citizens, a statement that is demonstrably inaccurate, but why let the truth get in the way of anything. It doesn’t fit his narrative, so he lies, as per usual.

In terms of trump being unpatriotic, that is also demonstrable: dodged the draft (cadet bone spurs), invited Russian interference in the 2016 election (the infamous, “Russia, if you’re listening” press conference) and then invited Ukrainian interference in the 2020 election. The list goes on and on. Which of those examples seems patriotic to you??

It's been my experience in the military and out that those who insinuate America wasn't great and hug the flag have no idea what true patriotism means. You obviously don't and probably haven't sacrificed a damn thing for this country.

Are you talking about the 1st President in my long lifetime that's done all he can to keep his election promises?
The one that has the economy in it's best position ever?
Lowered unemployment for Blacks, Hispanic, Asian, and women of all races to their lowest levels in U.S. history?
Reworked the long hated NAFTA?
Put the brakes on the rising Chinese trade deficit disasters?
Working to end ISIS and get U.S. troops out of the Middle East?
Attempting to drain the Wash. DC swamp???
And on and on and on.... o_O

While the deluded clueless socialist like you want to accuse and Impeach Trump today, for what Biden did and bragged about on tape in the Ukraine while the VP for un-Constitutional DACA O'Bombass....

You support traitors like the Clinton Crime Syndicate that sold Los Alamos secrets to the Chinese and 20-25% of the U.S. uranium to the Soviets, then started and paid for the Russian collusion BS.

IMO, you deserve a Darwin Award for your supposed intellectual prowess....

You still think mexico is paying for that wall?? Lolol
Never mind inviting foreign interference in American elections (TWICE), threatening the very basis of American democracy, etc
There’s so much more to say of course about him and his deplorable record as a human being (bragging about assaulting women, reported record of infidelity, etc)....but if you’d rather, we can just focus on his despicable policy decisions.

Clinton admitted to assaulting women?? That’s news to me. Could you reference that?? Because there is audio of trump admitting to it.
That being said, I’m not trying to hold up Clinton as a moral standard. I think what he did was wrong. That just makes them both wrong.

My point was don't throw stones. They're both pieces of shit where it comes to women.

My point is that trump is a terrible human being, a terrible president, and a threat to the security of the nation.

From instas post:

You still think Mexico is paying for that wall?? He took defence budget money to do that, when he repeatedly told the country that it would come entirely from Mexico. Not only has he lied there, but sets a dangerous precedent when a Democrat becomes president (who’s to say that healthcare, or the gun issue, isn’t a national emergency, etc). Just one example, but you get the idea.
The one that has the economy in it's best position ever?
Huh?? This is the greatest deficit the country has ever faced, and this is in direct contrast to what he said he was going to do. Not so challenging to have an “improving” economy when you’re living like the last days of Rome. When it comes time to pay these bills, I’m sure cadet bone spurs will find a convenient scape goat.
Lowered unemployment for Blacks, Hispanic, Asian, and women of all races to their lowest levels in U.S. history?
See above. A completely different argument as to whether they are high paying, quality jobs. And hard to trust what he says when he claims ivanka alone has created 12 millions jobs when the entire economy has created something like 6 million.
Reworked the long hated NAFTA?
By unilaterally declaring that America was backing out. This decreases America’s standing in the world because allies can’t tell if an agreement with the US means anything anymore.
Put the brakes on the rising Chinese trade deficit disasters?
Remember when he said trade wars were easy to win?? haha. Tell that to farmers in the Midwest who he had to bail out cause he has no clue what he’s doing.
Working to end ISIS and get U.S. troops out of the Middle East?
One thing both sides of the aisle agree on: he has botched military policy. Do you think anyone trusts that America will keep their word while he is in office?? I’m guessing the Kurds don’t.
Attempting to drain the Wash. DC swamp???
What swamp is that?? Roger Stone?? Paul Manafort?? Rudy Giuliani?? He appoints people to positions they are unqualified for because they donated to his campaign (see: Sondland)

Maybe you could answer some of my questions:
1) do you think trump is a trustworthy person?? From crowd sizes to the economy, it seems like he lies about everything.
2) what do you think of his”bone spurs” rationale for the reason he was unable to serve his country (in contrast to John McCain for example)??
3) do you think inviting foreign interference into American elections is appropriate/ethical/impeachable??

1) No. And I don't want my president to be. I' am perfectly fine with having a scoundrel as a president. See WJC.
2) I didn't see anything particularly patriotic about fighting in Vietnam. Does he have bone spurs? If so then I don't see the problem.
3) I haven't seen any conclusive of this. Perhaps some will come out during the impeachment hearings.

Insta didn't mention the wall so there goes that.
You changed the metric on unemployment. Lowest unemployment since he became president. Lowest unemployment for black people since they started keeping track of it.

We shouldn't have entered NAFTA to begin with. I don't give a shit what the rest of the world thinks. If Britain can back out of the EU, we can back out of Nafta.

You do understand there are different kinds of Kurds and they don't get along.

There's always going to be collateral damage in a trade war. I see more positives than negatives.

Personally, I'd like to see the wicked witch of Arkancide run and win.
That should kick off the full blown revolution (uncivil war) that's been needed for at least the last 50 years. o_O

"The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants." -- Thomas Jefferson (another of those evil entitled white males)

"It is the duty of every patriot to protect his country from its government" ----Thomas Paine. (another of those evil entitled white males)

Something to consider... One side has 50 billion bullets and survival equipment on hand,,, while the other side can't figure out which restroom to use....

Me, I'm old and worn down, so I'll just vote for Trump and hope for the best...

Trump being made to look a fool upon the hill, though admittedly, that’s not too hard a job. Corrupt and incompetent, with lackeys like Giuliani and protected by buffoons like Nunes and Jordan. Looking forward to the spin machine kicking in to overdrive after this week haha.

Russian collusion for 2 years + 30+ million tax payers dollars down the drain.
Obstruction of Justice down the drain.
Ukrainian Quid Pro Quo down the drain.
Bribery down the drain.
Demorats 3 years of Impeachment BS searching for a crime that they (and you) have been unable to find,,, down the drain. :p

FAILURE IS IT'S OWN DEMONSTRATION...
o_O

However the DOJ will be bringing charges on Demorats and their cronies soon. Their own long standing swamp corruption is coming to light.
Trump will likely be reelected in a 2020 landslide.

The Demorats and socialism  will go down, one way or the other.

PS
The wall is already being built.
Mexico has put troops on the border which has already reduced the flow.
The new Canada/Mecico/US trade agreement is one of the ways that Mexico is a round-about paying for the Wall, as soon as the Demorats get off their lame impeachment asses and get around to ratifying it.... o_O

Trumps request for the Wall = 5 Billion
Cost to U.S. taxpayers for Illegal (invading army) Aliens this year alone has already exceeded 240 Billion. You can thank the 'Open Border' Demorats for that on election day.

That's right Insta'. You have won the Republican vs. Democrat debate. There simply is no answer to the force of your reasoning. All Democrats who read your post must now acknowledge that they are actually "Demo-RATS" and head to the polls and vote for the orange blob in a bad suit.

Good year for you. First Trask, now Trump.

Demorat's 'open borders, invading army, illegal aliens.' have already cost U.S. taxpayers over 245 Billion this year alone...

And yes, I'll award you and your Demorats 'for their action / inaction, in the voting booth yet again... :p

JMOHO's as always...

Bull-Schiff is/was connected to a Ukrainian arms dealer's contracts. Him and some other corrupt politicians, and I'm betting some Ambassadors + federal agency bureaucrats were involved in bleeding backdoor slush-fund money out of the Ukraine. Your American taxpayer dollars at work, (but not for you)....

VP Joe and his fellow womanizing scumbag son Hunter Biden
House Speaker Nancy and her son Paul Pilosissy
Are all connected to the Ukrainian Gas Company corruption..
You can bet that POTUS O'boomba and some of his WH staff were in on it at some level.
Sec of State Hillbillery was supposed to be the nest POTUS and take over both the Russian and Ukrainian slush-fund channels, to keep the money flowing and the guilty corrupt out of jail.
While VP Biden / 2020 Candidate and his son were busy setting up a new 'cash-flow' with their Communist Chinese...

The swamp / cesspool is working to keep somebody FIRST, but you can bet that it ain't America or her taxpayers...

Now you know why they went after Trump so hard during the 2016 election cycle, and why they began a full-court-press for Impeachment as soon as he took office. o_O They are now being investigated by the IG and DOJ, and will likely be charged eventually as part of the Ukraine corruption slush fund scandal, with the thief and transfer of 7.2 Billion dollars out of the Ukraine..
(explain why a corrupt Ukraine President would flee to and be welcomed by Russia?)

IMOHO....
Trump is rich, he don't need the money, so he can't be bribed with a slush fund.
The bad thing is, if he can't be bought off, then the alternative is what they did to JFK.
Please be very careful Donald.... o_O

============

The even worse possibility is that 'THEY - ALL' could be setting up American citizens with a deep state A vs B Machiavelli gambit,, in which case we're all gonna get severely phucked pretty soon.....
