Stats
279. YPG #9 in nation (#2 in SEC)
4.0 YPP # 10 in nation (#2 in SEC)
100.5 RYPG #16 in nation (#3 in SEC)
2.7 RYPA #7 in nation (tied for #1 in SEC)
178.8 PYPG #22 in nation (#1 in the SEC)
6.2 PYPA #32 in nation (#7 in SEC)
They also rack up a lot of sacks
Eye test
They have a great DL. They can rush the passer and shut down running lanes. Best DL we have faced all year.
Solid group of LB's that can tackle in space.
Secondary is solid, but not as as the stats say they are. Their DL makes them look better than they are.
Reality
They havnt played anyone and their 4-1 by the skin of their teeth. So the stats portray them as better than they actually are.
Still I think it is a fair argument that Missouri has a better defense than Ole Miss. No doubt they have a better DL.
Expectations
2 emotional wins and now we face an opponent we have no business losing to on the road, but this team may have the best defense we have faced all year.
TRAP GAME
I could see our offense struggling.
Should they?
NO
Missouri should absolutely be susceptible to our style of offense (short, quick passes to WR's that are good after the catch). That should nullify or slow down their pass rush and allow us to take advantage of their secondary. The same old game plan should work, but will we have the same emotional intensity? Will we be able to perform the same on the road?
