For those who don't know what it is, it is an Annual Contest of the Top Athletic Programs in the Country.

  • 37 sports are tracked, but only the Top 19 scoring sports are kept, so that helps negate the Stanford effect of having all the obscure sports. Though they get more chances to have a higher scoring 19
  • 100 points max per sport (e.g. Michigan got 100 for FB)
  • The sports are split into 3 seasons (Fall. Winter, Spring) with standings released after each season
  • UF and Stanford are the only 2 schools that have finished in the Top 10 since the award started 30 years ago
  • UF also has Top 5 streak going of 14 years.
  • The last 3 years they barely keep the streak going, finishing #5 all 3 years
  • UF's Fall season typically doesn't get many points and this year was the same with UF in 48th place after the Fall Sports. Womens Cross Country (Valby) and Womens Volleyball were the lone points
  • The Winter was much better and shot UF all the way #13 (575 points). Both Swimming programs finish #3, W_Indoor Track (2), M-Indoor Track (3), Gymnastics (4). Got 25 points for making BB Tournament
  • Now comes the 11 Spring Sports of which UF is getting 0 points from Rowing, Mens Lacrosse, and Womens Beach Volleyball
  • Mens Tennis lost in 1st round of tournament and Women lost in the 2nd round (upset by Miami), getting uF 25 and 50 points
  • Womens Golf went to the Regional but did not advance despite being seeded to advance, this will get UF 34.5 points
  • These 3 sports add 109.5 to the 575 they had after the Winter sports, putting them roughly at 684.5 (though they don't technically get those points until those sports crown a champion)
  • Probably going to need around 1100 points to finish #5 (Last 2 years #6 had 1079 and 1067)
Here's what's left to get 400+ points:
  • Mens Golf did advance in their Regional, so they pick up a minimum of 44 points and will likely pick up more depending on where they finish. I'm going to guess around 60 pts here.
  • Womens Lacrosse is in the Final 4, minimum of 80 points. (3rd gets 85, 2nd gets 90, 1st 100). I think it's unlikely we get Top 5 without this amazing LAX run
  • Going into the Track and Field Finals, the Men are ranked #2 and women #6. If they finish likely that the #2 is worth 90, the #6 is somewhere around 60-70 points
  • Womens Softball won their Regional which was huge and gets UF a minimum of 64 pts. If they win the Super Regional it jumps to 73
  • Baseball. That win yesterday was huge and makes it likely they go to a Regional, where you get minimum of 25 points. Win 1 game at the Regional and it jumps to 37.5. Regional Runner up gets 50. Win Regional get 64. Points are the same for Softball and Baseball
It's going to be tight

There is a 2 team race between Stanford and Texas at the top. Some are projecting Tennessee (1st Top 5 ever) and UNC will have over 1100. Alabama, Arkansas and maybe even A&M projected North of 1050.
