Did Kyree Campbell's play actually make a difference vs Missouri ?

Defense seemed to play better, but did not hear Campbell's name called.

Theoretically, his activation last night allowed Brenton Cox Jr to return to Buck - where he seemed to play well & Zachary Carter to move back outside to SDE; but Carter got stupid & got thrown out for 2nd half so not much there.

Other thoughts ?

WIth Campbell in there the dline wasn't being blown off the ball on every rushing play. That made a huge difference.

Dear Dan & coaching staff,
thanks for the appropriate changes in the defense.

Led by Brad Stewart, who recorded 6 total tackles and one pass break up, the newly formed Gator secondary provided a much-needed spark to an overall stale defensive crew.

The Gators allowed just 248 total yards to Missouri, including a season-best 208 passing yards. The Tigers also converted on only 3-of-15 (20%) 3rd downs, after Florida had previously allowed offenses to convert 58.7% of the time.

Star Stewart
Safeties Dean & Torrence Fr
Corners Elam So & Hill So
Capping off the victory with a fumble recovery by true freshman DB Kamar Wilcoxson. He was seeing his 1st playing time of the season vs Mizzou.

Improving upon the issues that they faced early in the year, the Gators new starting unit allowed just 3 Pts on the night to Missouri’s offensive unit.

When the backups play better than the starters have been playing, then maybe it's time to get some new starters in there.... 🤓

They did admit that this was the first time some of the defensive guys were actually playing at the natural spots all season long, so that helped. Believe it or not I think the 2 week hiatus due to Covid was a blessing in disguise. While the team couldn't practice or lift weights or get into film rooms and such, the coaches sure could. I think this gave Grantham a couple weeks of NOT having to gameplan for the next game only 6 days away, but look carefully at whats been going on wrong in general and fix that first. Then when the week of practice came, it was more of a well laid out plan for 1. correcting defensive mistakes, and 2. gameplanning for the exact team they were facing.

Here's hoping we can slow Georgia's run game down enough to limit scoring. I'd also like to see some takeaways as that is the one major glaring issue this year we lack. VERY low on the turnover ratio this year.

He made a big difference along the line. He was in the backfield several times.

Country,

After looking at several other Gator sites, I think you are correct.

All I could do is listen to Mick Hubert & Lee McGriff. I realize that a DT doesn't always generate a lot of stats so I will go with the accounts of others & accept that he made a difference.

The defensive lineman I saw with the name Lee on his back sure looked a whole lot bigger than 215lbs.

Thanks for the heads up on the typo.... :D :D
I fixed it for ya... 😇

2020: Did not play against Ole Miss, South Carolina and Texas A&M.
(Mizzou was Lee's 1st time in a game)

Prior to Florida:
Played at Live Oak High School, where he was a 2018 and 2019 All-District Selection… Finished his junior year with 74 tackles and 5.5 sacks while primarily playing nose tackle… Held more than 15 Division I offers, including Alabama, Georgia, and LSU, where he verbally committed before choosing Florida.
