Going to Atlanta in our first-year post-Muschamp?!?! To my mind, he is arguably the single-worst coach in the history of UF football in that, there may have been teams with worse records than him, but I can't imagine anyone having done less with more than Mus. I shudder to think of what our record would be if that guy was still trolling the sidelines eradicating any attempt at offensive production by UF.

Mac has taken lemons and made lemonade. Can't wait to see what happens with another year in the system and the positive recruiting momentum we are building.

It was never far fetched for me. What have we all been saying the last few years" 'If we just has a competent offense, this team would could win the division'. We finally have a competent offense (well, except fro last Saturday).

Remember when the Colorado State president proclaimed that they 'took it to us' at the negotiating table? Funny. Winner Florida.

I definitely didn't see this coming. And no Michi I wasn't rooting against Mac's success, because he replaced Boom.
( I know you were thinking it! LMAO)

There is no way this guy doesn't bring another MnC to Hogtown before its all said and done. Guy can flat out coach his ass off.

P.S. Michi: Ain't it about time you give kudos to Foley for another great hire?

Michi, you were to hung up on hiring a "name", making a splash. I was cautiously optimistic for 2 good reasons.
1) Mac was an OC
2) He had HC experience
Muschamp had neither. FWIW I think Foley is hard headed and egotistical and he was more or less forced into this coaching transition.
Did anybody see Mason on the Vandy sideline? Storming around yelling and screaming acting like an animal. He's Muschamp v2.0. He will never be a successful HC. Compare that to Mac, his calm confident demeanor, the team is a reflection of that. They truly believe they will win.

I will say the only small bit of hope I had other than Danny talking me into Mac was a reporter who said Mac ran CSU like Saban runs Bama. That is why I think Tom Herman will be good somewhere because I just read that he operates juat like Urban.

I thought we'd see some improvement just because player Muschamp was bad in so many areas. Was thinking that things like player development, depth, etc could only get better with someone else. That said I did not expect a division title in year 1, let alone having it almost wrapped up by Halloween.

But see this is why I was confused about Muschamp having so much support and people not seeing the issues. Meyer and Mac have both come in and taken the hand dealt and made it work. Muschamp tried to put the pieces into a puzzle they didn't belong to. It just reeked of trouble from the get go

Some coaches choose to adapt to the roster (Meyer), and some coaches implement their systems irregardless of fit (Saban).I don't think what Champ was trying to do was very far reaching.

Could it be that it seemed outlandish to some because they already had their hearts set on a particular type of offense that was very different than Boom's vision?

I think it was that we had our hearts set on having an offense.

J Palmer thought it would take JM 3 years minimum to get the program back on track. I am very surprised as well.

However, there are a few saving graces that JM inherited - 1) great defense, 2) East is very weak 3) favorable home/away schedule

on the FSU board Florida is no better than Eastern Washington and all the other East teams, including Ole Miss are just even worse.

The east can't be that weak can it? The 2nd best team in the ACC (UNC) lost to South Carolina. Now I know the ACC is the worst conference of the power 5, but still not sure an FSU fan should be bringing up division or conference strength.

I didn't know what to expect from Mac...I though that it would take going into year 2 to see an improvement...what he has done in year one is a shock to me...this team is like the 2nd year Mus team except the direction, attitude and offensive game plan are all different...what I mean by that is that we've won some close games and have a great record...all of that with the exception that we won the east. What a job by this coach and these players this season...very impressive. I can see us having some struggles next year but the year after...watch out. We obviously have a high level coach...he's put together a great staff and they are really coaching these kids up. Time to get in the talent, keep developing it and keep moving this program in a direction that we are talked about being a top 4 contender before the season every year.

Careful my friend. Muschamp went 11-2 at one time. Did you say he was the worse ever then? You youngsters don't have Pre-Spurrier memories. My first year as a big Gator fan was 1979.

0-10-1

Things have been worse.
