Del Rio

Two years in a row UF losses their starting QB. Pretty tough deal.

SMH.

This team is cursed. And the hit was late but I'll blame the OL anyway. He took a beating tonight even before then. Pathetic.

Is it definitely serious as in ending his season?

With how Del Rio walked off without a clear major sprain of an ankle etc if Mac said he is out next week that makes you think its serious.

I don't think the guy intentionally went low. It looked like he was either pushed or tripped and was on his way down and lunged for the QB. I told my wife the first week of the season that Del Rio wouldn't last halfway through the season if the O-line didn't protect better. North Texas is a terrible team and they were hitting him almost every play. I'm not impressed with Tennessee at all and Appleby is experienced and gave Del Rio a close run to be the starter. But our offense played terrible tonight and unless they clean it up significantly the QB play be the main factor - it's the horrible offensive line.

Appleby is supposed to be more mobile. Maybe we will roll him out more, try to get away from pressure.

I thought Del Rio got decent time usually especially early in the game. More than he would get against good SEC defenses.

Our O line is horrible as well...will be interesting to see who "out horribles" the other.

Fair take. People are mad at the NT player but rewatching it it didn't seem intentional. Our tackle was beat and it looked like he was pushed from behind and went right into Del Rio'a leg.

Lost in all that is the fact that the oline was once again beat and was allowing free rushers all night. Blame them. That shitty offensive performance is the only reason LDR was even in the game at that point anyway. A legitimate top 25 team should be resting starters in the 4th against NT, instead we had 19 points and made getting 5 yards look hard. And now we don't have a QB because of it. Take care of business and none of this happens.

Rewatch the play. It was Goolsby that got beat not an olineman. He also didn't push the North Texas player becuase he got beat too badly to even get a hand on him.

I don't know whether it was intentional or not but the North Texas player dove low for the tackle. No doubt about that

Have you been watching college football? The only teams that really appear to be taking care of business is Bama, Ohio State, Lville and Michigan.

It almost appears he just dove at Del Rio too soon. Its hard to tell if he slipped just a bit making him dive early but his knee hits the ground before he even hit Del Rio like he just dove too soon possibly.

You guys keep saying this as if it's some universal rule in CFB. It's bullshit. And the teams that are struggling with these cupcakes are also bad teams like Tennessee so idk why you think pointing that out somehow makes our situation look better. It just means we're also bad. Good teams may have 1 of these games a year, not 2 of them in 3 weeks. And not against the likes of North Texas or Umass either...teams who are having losing records in their lower division. Our defense deserves better.

You do realize the spread was 33 and we won by 32 points. I seem to recall nobody saying we cover the spread and we pretty much did without our best offensive player I might add. I'm not saying we played great tonight but I think we played better than some of you are suggesting or acting as well.

I couldn't care less about a spread, I don't bet. That game was sloppy and undisciplined. North Texas is an awful team and the bums we have on the oline allowed our QB to take a beating all night. He should not even have been in the game at that point but he was becaause we could only manage 19 points into the 4th and now a fluke play has us screwed again. It's ridiculous.

I was literally thinking this exact thing about 30 minutes ago. We should have had a huge lead at that point and Del Rio should have been sitting.

53 total yards.

A 5 score shut out.

Oh how awful.

In other news, the three lowest scoring teams in division are Vandy, South Carolina, and UGA. All hovering around 50 points

I don't bet either but Vegas knows what they are doing. We pretty much covered the spread without our best WR.

FWIW Del Rio got sacked 0 times tonight. He got some pressure at times but only when they blitzed.

we had a huge lead against UK and Del Rio was still playing. Didn't Del Rio get hurt in the 3rd quarter? He got hurt because that is what happens in football sometimes. It isn't anybody's fault he got hurt.

I want to watch the replay but I don't remember our O linemen getting blown up that bad. I remember Taylor keeping the speed guys on his side in check at least early in the game. I think a few times TEs got beat bad or a guy came flying in when the TE released to run his route.

Yes, late 3rd. He shouldn't have needed to be in there against this team. This was a scrimmage for next week. Now we are going to have a tough time.

Didnt even Tim Tebow get hurt against UK with a 30+ point lead fairly late in the game?

Heck Petrino didn't even pull Lamar Jackson from today's game until they were up by 53 points.

Yes our defense is amazing, we all know that. And they deserve better. Unfortunately, there are three phases to the game.

A few times we didn't pick up a blitz but the oline didn't a pretty good job in pass protection.

Exactly. And as bad as UK is they're still better than this team. North Texas went 1-11 last year in a trash heap of a division. That's the point you guys are missign when you make these comparisons. SMU, another team that went 1-11 last year, hung 34 on North Texas just a week ago. We struggled to get 19 through 3 1/2. The game should have already been over and our starters out when this happened. But that wasn't the case because nobody on the team but the defense showed up.

By the way Del Rio also got hurt on a roughing the passer penalty as well. Keep that in mind. Again IMO it wasn't the cleanest of hits. I'm not going to say with 100% certainty it was a dirty hit but no matter how you slice it the guy dove low. He dove lower than your supposed too.

For those tuning in, we shut out a team 32-0, held them to 53 total yards, put up 477 yArds, 255 rushing, averaged 6 yards a carry, and scored 4 times with 4 different backs.

You would think that was bad.
