Football Scoop reported yesterday that Dan Mullen is considering adding Chris Wilson to the staff. We have confirmed that UF is interested. This is the natural first call since Wilson worked with Mullen before at Mississippi State. He also coached with Todd Grantham, when he was the DL coach at Georgia and Grantham was the DC.
According to a source, Florida is vetting other candidates. The other name they are trying to gauge interest is with Kevin Patrick, the DL coach at NC State. This would be a huge get for Mullen. Patrick not only is a Florida native but he also played at Miami, a nice dig at a rival.
However, in regards to Patrick, after talking to a few sources, they would be shocked if he left Raleigh. When I spoke to these sources, no official offer had been made. As everyone knows, anything can happen when the right amount of money is tossed around, however, as of late Friday night, I was told Patrick would like to stay at NC State.
