Dang, Towson one of the top ranked FCS teams

Perhaps won't be as boring a game as one would initially think when looking at the schedule.

Trust the G-loserett-mutt on this.
He-They have a lot of recent experience in this situation.

UGly 63 - 17 Murray State Racers

UGly 55 - 0 Ark State Red Wolves

======

And then there's the 2 power-house teams they've played:
UGly 30 - 6 Candy
UGly 23 - 17 Neutered Lame

The just lost to Villanova and no, that wasn’t in basketball.....56-6 Florida

Florida next hosts FCS No.1 ranked Towson on CBS at 4 PM.

Then they have to go through a bit tougher line up after that....

7. Auburn - Homecoming
@ 4. LSU
@ SCa
@ 3. UGly - WLOCP
@ 2. UA -- IF they make it to the SEC-C in Hotlanta

Are you guys seriously touting this game? Jeebus that’s sad.

Y'all are leaving out a 0 from our ranking. We're 10th this week and pissed away a chance for Gameday to come to Gainesville by yakking that game in OT against Nova.

Some things about us...

--Our QB is Tom Flacco. If you recognize that last name, you'd be correct. He's Joe's brother. He's slightly better than Joe. Lots of mobility and has a really good arm (played baseball for us in the spring).
--Lost our #1 RB/KR to an ACL in our 3rd game so that's a killer. Have three capable RB's all with a different brand (smash and grab, 3rd down back, scatback) but our offensive line has not been great about opening holes. With what y'all did against Miami, it could be a long day for our o-line.
--A ton of good wideouts and if Flacco can get some time, we may have some success there. We like to run up-tempo and pitch it around. Hopefully that won't mean a ton of 3 and outs or stupid turnovers.
--Defensively, we're not good. Allowed 14/18 3rd and 4th down conversions against Nova which is why we lost. We don't get pressure on the QB and our DBs are decent but they play too much off the ball. Trask could have a pretty fun day picking apart our defense.

I'm hoping for a competitive game at least until halftime but am less confident after our defensive performance against Nova. Our previous trips to 1-A venues haven't fared all that well because we turn it over too much or give up a special teams score. I'll pop back into this thread now and then throughout the week to check on the level of 'trash talk', not that I'm going to be adding any. I'm hoping that my sterling record at the Swamp (Gators are 0-3 in games at the Swamp when I've attended) works in our favor on Saturday.

Thanks for the info on your team. I've always maintained the top 10-15 teams in the FCS are easily better than the bottom 20-25 teams in FBS. Who is your coach and what is his background

Rob Ambrose is the head coach. He's a Towson alum who cut his teeth as an OC under Randy Edsall at UCONN back when the Huskies were going to Fiesta Bowls (not the current abomination). Rob's in his 11th season and under him, we've won 2 conference championships (same conference as James Madison, who has been a major player in 1-AA the past few seasons) and been to the playoffs 3 times, including the 2013 Championship game where we were another stampede victim at the hands of North Dakota State.

I feel positive that you could google that yourself.

Actually Towson is ranked #10.

This won't be a close game. I would be more concerned if we were playing North Dakota State. They are a legit good team and have beaten several FBS schools over the years.

While I in no way expect our Gators to be a victim this week, the words 'GIANT-KILLER' do exit for a real world reason....

I expect to see everybody play this week, except maybe for the water-boys and the cheerleaders... :D

I always enjoyed these games for their 'party atmosphere' and getting to see the entire depth chart, including the FNG freshmen play. Kind of a sneak peek into future teams as it were. o_O

Naw, what's sad is the fact that your big end of the season in-state rival lost to The Citadel, a team that lost to Towson... o_O

Towson's only loss was by 7 pts to FCS #1 Villanova 52 - 45 Towson

Towson 28 - 21 Citadel
Citadel 27
- 24 GaTech

Villanova, even though 4-0 and having beaten Towson, is still ranked behind Towson. Towson is #10, Villanova #13. North Dakota State, the defending FCS national champs, has been ranked #1 all season and will stay that way until somebody beats them.

Do you have a real point, or just like typing inane gibberish?

Thanks ocala, I must have looked at their conference rankings.... doh!
But so much for rankings when....
4-0 Nova is ranked behind a 3-1 Towson team that they just beat...

We don't really play a powerhouse team until we play Bama in the SEC championship game. That's the downside of being in the SEC East.

:D:D:D -- LMFAO

UGly squeaked out a 6 point win at home over #10 Neutered Lame.

#8 UF leads the entire SEC in the consecutive win streak with 8 wins. including beating then #7 Mich by 26 pts, while UGly was being embarrassed by losing to #15 Tx in the Sugar Bowl.:p:cool:

Being buttsniffers must induce them to talk outta their own butts like this....

Then why aren’t you ranked ahead? Come on, you can do it...

To be the man you gotta beat the man (Ric Flair). Right now Georgia is the man in the SEC East. We're heading in the right direction, but we ain't there yet. Auburn,LSU & Georgia will let us know how close we're getting and maybe this year is the year. Hope so, but until we do it, Georgia is still the team to beat in the East. Goooo Gators!!

It wasn't that long ago that Mizzou was the team to beat in the east. Things change quickly.

I guess you can’t pull up the FCS poll so, you just tell lies in here? Villanova was #18 in the FCS poll last week numNUTTS!

Never seen someone so excited about besting Michigan the year before. Congrats again! Great job!
