When it was time to replace WiLLLLLLLLie, there were FSU fans here who wanted Mark Stoops. As for other sites such as the actual FSU boards, I never bothered looking elsewhere but here.

Well at least it wasn't "bend and break" like with Grantham. Sickening.
FSUs defense was great when we had Stoops. I am probably the the guilty party gatordad3 is referring to since I’ve been hyping Stoops for years. That said, I still believe Norvell will be successful over the long run.
Well they are improving, and it's with the same personnel. I've never seen two teams (UF and FSU) go into two different diverging directions in a single season. It's unreal.

TBH, I don't remember you hyping up Stoops but I remember @fsu939913 bringing up Stoops but he humorously brought up Bob during that time.

We can agree to disagree here. It may not be 1990 anymore but Bob Stoops is a much better coach than Lane Kiffin no matter what decade we are in. Stoops is still only 61. He’s not that old.
If we can get Bob Stoops, it’s an absolute no brainer. Guy knows how to run a top 5 program. None of these other guys do.
Of course FSU fans want you to hire Lane Kiffin over Bob Stoops. Duh.
I think Kiffin is the riskier hire. When we were trying to hire Bob Stoops, the hesitation was that he said he doesn't like the 24/7/365 job that college football has turned into. Said he loves coaching but is getting to old to recruit 247 like he would have to. Hence why he was coaching in the XFL. It was only 3 months out of the yr. I just don't think he WANTS to coach in college football anymore because of that. He's in his 60s I believe so I just don't think he would want to. Lane is a great offensive coach who would recruit like Meyer. Is it making a deal with the devil? Maybe. I think he is way more motivated than Bob though. Now maybe Bob is getting the itch to coach again but from his comments just last yr when we were seeing if he was interested, I don't think he is.

I agree. I doubt very seriously that Florida would entertain the idea of Mark Stoops for one second. And not because of money. Stoops does not play a style that would get many excited in Gainesville.
He is a defensive specialist but his defense leaves much to be desired. I doubt it would cut it at Florida. In fact I know he wouldn't. He is comfortable in Lexington and with his contract he has job security
You have to take Stoops if he wants to coach again. I am thinking the only thing that could make him want that is if he wants to win an SEC/National with Saban around. That Saban/SEC stuff did seem to get to him while at Oklahoma.
Lane Kiffin is nowhere near the recruiter Urban Meyer is. Kiffin is actually overrated as a recruiter and doesn’t like it that much. He’s not recruiting very good this year at Ole Miss and capitalizing on the success he has had. I think Kiffin is a good coach but I’m not sure how stable he is and if he can really build and sustain a program.
Oh boy if you can't see the difference between Taggart and Mullen I don't know what to tell you.
Yes Mullen is much better than Taggart but correct me If I’m wrong after 20 games Taggart and Norvell have identical records. Still don’t think an FSU fan should say anything about patience if you are firing a guy after 20 games. Yes Taggart was just a bad football coach he didn’t do anything morally or ethically wrong or anything to get him fired for cause.

I had field passes for the Syracuse game in Taggert's last season. Even warmups were a grab-asstick unorganized mess. That was Taggart. It would have been criminal to let it continue. A nice guy, but a terrible coach. Also got it from someone on the FSU PD that he was a degenerate weed smoker. They suspected he actually smoked his office. One that had to move his vehicle once said it reeked of weed.

I was told by a Platinum Chief that the #1 guy was Stoops. This is a former player and a HUGE name in Nole fame.
His other buddies were a bunch of Tally Country Club swinging dongs (excuse my language, boys) who were SO pissed
About what Stan Freaking Wilcox did - and they were among the guys hit up to write big checks to get Willie gone - they took it upon themselves to be the big dogs on the new hire.
Stoops was NEVER interested. Nothing against FSU...he just was not interested in going back to the rigors of college coaching. Plus he had an interest in that startup indoor league with the Dallas franchise (now defunct) they put it out there and the fact is they were shut down. By Stoops and his people. Never a serious thing. I had to eat piles of crow on Warchant.
