So, 76, I agree with you often but I’m curious why you are so dismissive to the virulence of the Covid virus. OK, maybe by definition you can refer to it as a cold virus. But explain the 100 patients you treated that died from it. How many have you previously seen die from a cold virus or even the seasonal flu. Yes, most had preexisting conditions. But they would not have died so early had they not caught the Covid infection.

Seriously we get caught up too much in semantics sometimes. The more descriptive phrase I normally use his upper respiratory tract infection but for this group I use cold virus.
Remember every year of my career I’ve lost several patients to viral pneumonia‘s in the winter time. So I play with semantics depending upon my audience But I have a very healthy respect for upper respiratory viral infections and there’s sequela of pneumonia that occur sometimes.

Yeah you know there’s lots we can do in terms of supportive care while we give the body a chance to cure the virus on its own, just doesn’t seem to work in the really sick ones.

Prevention is the best therapy for a virus 🦠

Isn't that the way medicine works? A new virus is more damaging until it is studied and specific treatments are developed?

I swear reading this board I almost feel compelled to go into medicine. I had no idea the medical community was this ill-equipped to serve.
